Job Summary: Rackspace is hiring for a Communications and Content Development Manager who’ll be responsible for planning, executing, managing and maintaining communication strategies that aligns to the overall strategy, goals and objectives of the company. You’ll be developing and delivering digital, oral and written communication to provide information across the company. You’ll manage projects or portions of projects involving communications which will ensure the communications program is uniform and consistent based on the values and strategic priorities of Rackspace.
 
Work Location: Our new state of the art Castle located in San Antonio, TX. You'll have the opportunity work a hybrid model with two days in the office and three days remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with C-suite executives to develop and implement communication strategies that align with business goals and elevate executive presence.
  • Lead the creation of executive messaging, including speeches, blogs, internal announcements, and thought leadership content.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on communication best practices and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and HR to align internal and external messaging with the employee value proposition (EVP).
  • Content Development & Creative Direction
  • Oversee the production of high-quality content across formats: email, video, PowerPoint, infographics, and digital media.
  • Direct the scripting, filming, editing, and publishing of video content for internal and external audiences.
  • Ensure all content is visually compelling, brand-aligned, and tailored to the intended audience.
  • Develop storytelling assets that showcase employee experiences, company culture, and career growth opportunities.
  • Manage internal communication platforms such as SharePoint intranet, Viva Engage, Microsoft Teams, and Poppulo.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance digital communication tools and ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Lead the implementation of new communication technologies and recommend platform improvements.
  • Ensure culture brand content is effectively distributed across career sites, social media, and digital platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional content initiatives in collaboration with marketing, events, HR, and IT teams.
  • Manage timelines, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of communication assets.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee agency or vendor partnerships related to external recognition and social media amplification.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that enhance the employee experience.
  • Create content that supports a positive organizational culture and fosters a sense of community.
  • Collaborate with HR to align communication efforts with employee experience initiatives.
  • Utilize feedback and engagement metrics to continuously improve employee communication.
  • Leverage employee stories and testimonials to reinforce the company’s culture and core values internally and externally.
  • Define and evolve the culture brand strategy in partnership with HR, Marketing, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all candidate and employee touchpoints.
  • Monitor culture brand perception through platforms like Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and internal surveys.
  • Develop campaigns that position the company as an employer of choice in key talent markets.
  • Define KPIs and track the effectiveness of communication campaigns and executive messaging.
  • Use data and feedback to refine strategies and improve engagement across channels.
  • Analyze culture brand metrics such as application rates, candidate quality, and brand sentiment to inform strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.  At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing a corporate communications program is required.
  • Experienced with the following skills:  campaign design, communication planning, company/design branding, presentation building, project management, public relations, and management of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform data analysis.
  • Background using software design tools, marketing automation tools, and project management tools.
