Job Description
Team Mission: Wise’s audiovisual team ensures that all the AV equipment is ready for events and meetings in our offices across the world. The team makes sure that the events run in a smooth and orderly manner from the technical perspective. While the day to day duties vary slightly based on the situation, the AV technician is responsible for supporting cross office events and web conferencing meetings.
What you’ll do:
Run the technical production of cross-company events of varying complexity, size, and locations in collaboration with our established AV partners
Deliver the best AV experiences for in-room and remote participants using Zoom, Vimeo and various other hardware that we use in our offices (Logitech, Neat, etc)
Maintain and upgrade AV solutions in our offices while working together with Wise’s Workplace team to keep the AV systems up-to-date and automated where necessary and possible (office refurbishments and new offices)
Create, maintain, and update the runbooks that document the usage of our event spaces and meeting rooms
Develop and maintain standards and ensure all deployed AV solutions are raised to those standards
Lead the knowledge/skill growth with the wider Support units to offload operational workload as much as possible
Work on additional AV services relevant to the employee experience such as digital signage systems and room bookings
Deal with support related service requests and incidents for the supported technologies and infrastructure together with other IT support teams
About you:
A Bachelor's degree in related technical studies, or equivalent work experience
At least 3+ years of experience of running corporate events either in an events space or other fast paced setting (ideally in-house). Experiences with stage setup, maintenance and troubleshooting, running live shows, and the ability to wear multiple hats at once (such as camera op, vision mixer, technician and direct support to presenters and other staff members) is strongly preferred
At least 2+ years of professional experience and expertise in an IT support role focused on video conferencing and AV solutions and troubleshooting
User centric mindset where customers’ needs come first
A combination of experience in any of the following fields or others related: sound and video engineering, streaming, AV integration, events manager, video editing.
A good understanding of Zoom and other cloud based conferencing services
A good understanding of Google Workplace
Strong analytical, and hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to manage complex or escalated support issues
Creative approach to doing things out of the box while also learning and adapting to new technologies
Familiarity with other AV platforms and solutions and good understanding of trends in AV space
Ability to travel around the world to other Wise offices and relevant events
Nice to haves:
Basic IT skills such as remote device management, security and password management, cloud storage, documentation and ticketing systems (JIRA).
CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) Certification
Some experience with internal IT help desk and/or customer support related work
Some knowledge of Q-Sys programming for audiovisual event spaces
This is a hybrid position based in Austin, Texas, and is not remote.
Must already be legally authorized to work in the US, as this role cannot support visas.
