Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! As a Commercial Director, you’re not leading commercial strategy across multiple segments and revenue streams – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Responsibilities

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

  • Own commercial strategy and execution: Develop and implement integrated commercial strategies across all revenue streams — including Group, Conference, and Events (GCE), Rooms, Food and Beverage, Leisure, and Spa — to drive top-line performance and market share growth
  • Maximize revenue and profitability: Partner with General Managers and Finance to ensure commercial decisions support revenue goals, optimize cost of sales, and deliver profit and margin targets
  • Lead pricing and forecasting strategy: Oversee revenue management practices including pricing, rate strategies, demand forecasting, and business reviews to optimize revenue across all segments
  • Align sales and marketing efforts: Coordinate on-property and regional sales, marketing, eCommerce, and public relations activities to support brand positioning and drive demand
  • Adapt to market dynamics: Monitor trends, assess competitive landscape, and adjust commercial strategies to stay ahead in evolving market conditions
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships: Build trusted relationships with owners, operators, Hilton corporate teams, and external partners to align goals and create long-term commercial value
  • Cultivate a high-performing team: Drive engagement and retention through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and achievement of annual commercial business plans across the cluster.
  • Direct the Sales & Marketing function, ensuring effective execution of sales strategies, customer engagement, and market activation.
  • Oversee revenue management strategies including pricing, rate development, group thresholds, forecasting and demand analysis.
  • Guide the preparation of key commercial reports (Forecasts, Marketing Budget, Lead Management, Booking Reports, Delphi outputs, Sales & Marketing meeting minutes).
  • Ensure coordination of cross‑selling, joint marketing initiatives, media planning, and brand synergies to drive exposure and profitability.
  • Participate in client meetings, entertainment, and key industry events to strengthen commercial relationships.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, market trends, and travel industry developments to inform commercial strategy.
  • How you will collaborate with others:
  •
  • Work closely with General Managers to align commercial priorities and ensure strategic direction is executed at property level.
  • Provide leadership to sales, marketing, and revenue management teams within the cluster.
  • Partner with regional commercial leadership to support wider MEA commercial strategies.
  • Maintain open communication with supporting functions (Finance, Operations, HR) to ensure alignment and performance delivery.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

    • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
    • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
    • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
    • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
    • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
    • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
