The Commercial Analyst will focus on driving revenue growth by analyzing data related to the VIP consumer segment and collaborating with sales and operational teams to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities.
We are looking for a commercially minded Business Analyst to partner closely with our VIP and Strategy & Operations teams focused on driving revenue growth, client engagement, and retention across our VIP segment.
The successful candidate will operate as a sales enablement and commercial analytics partner, proactively surfacing insights, identifying opportunities within the customer base, and shaping targeted action plans that drive specific client outcomes.
You will work at the intersection of data, commercial strategy, and client operations, translating complex data into actionable insights, talking points, and opportunities for Relationship Managers and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end commercial and revenue analytics for the VIP consumer segment, including trading activity, volumes, revenue contribution, engagement trends, and client lifecycle analysis (activation, growth, churn risk, reactivation).
- Identify and quantify revenue expansion opportunities across regions, product lines (Spot, Derivatives, Earn, new launches), and client cohorts (AUM tiers, behavior, tenure, activity patterns).
- Act as a sales enablement partner to the relationship management team, translating data into actionable insights that improve client conversations and commercial outcomes.
- Convert analysis into client-level talking points, cross-sell and upsell opportunities, targeted outreach lists, and performance narratives for relationship managers.
- Support relationship managers with pre-campaign, in-campaign, and post-campaign analysis to assess impact and optimize execution.
- Proactively surface commercial opportunities within the VIP client base, including underserved products, dormant or declining activity, and regional or cohort-specific growth pockets.
- Partner with VIP Leadership, Strategy and Product to design and evaluate targeted incentives and cohort-specific campaigns, assessing effectiveness and ROI.
- Build and maintain performance analytics covering VIP portfolio health, relationship manager effectiveness and coverage, and client engagement and responsiveness.
- Deeply understand team workflows, operating models, and tools to identify data gaps and proactively build reporting that enables better decision-making.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives such as VIP segmentation evolution, coverage model optimisation, and go-to-market strategies for VIP clients.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Business Analytics, Commercial Analytics, Sales Analytics, or Strategy roles
- Proven experience partnering with revenue-driving or sales-adjacent teams
- Strong SQL and data manipulation skills
- Experience working with large transactional datasets (e.g., trading, payments, financial flows)
- Ability to move beyond dashboards to deliver insight-driven, actionable analysis
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of client behavior, incentives, revenue levers, and unit economics
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling, action-oriented narratives
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and client-facing teams in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
Nice to have
- Experience in Crypto, Fintech, Trading, Payments, or high-growth consumer platforms
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar), with a focus on decision enablement
- Familiarity with sales or relationship management operating models, particularly within retail high-value or VIP segments
- Experience influencing commercial strategy through targeted insights, incentives, or campaign analysis

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
- Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
- Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
