Thanks for checking out Standard Template Labs. We’re a stealth-mode, AI-native startup backed by leading investors, reimagining the future of IT Service and Configuration Management by combining AI, graph-based architecture, and exceptional design. We’re tackling some of the hardest challenges in enterprise software-and we’re looking for Cornell engineers who want to take on meaningful ownership with an Enterprise project.

About the Role
We are seeking Full Stack Engineers with solid academic experience designing and building applications. You’ll be responsible for contributing to the build-out of user-facing features and backend services end-to-end, collaborating closely with designers, product engineers, other software engineers and infrastructure experts.

You'll be exposed to:

  • Owning features end-to-end: design, implement, test, and deploy user-facing functionality and backend APIs

  • Shaping the stack: work across front-end, backend, and database layers (stack not set yet — you’ll help define it)

  • AI-native product development: integrate AI/LLM capabilities into workflows to make ITSM smarter and more efficient

  • Performance & scaling: build highly performant, secure, and scalable services for enterprise customers

  • Collaborating cross-functionally: partner with platform engineers on infrastructure, and with product/design on UX

  • Contributing to Developer productivity: contribute to internal tooling, code quality, and CI/CD best practices

  • Security & compliance: bake in enterprise-grade security and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001) from day one

  • Customer impact: deliver features that enterprise users actually love, in contrast to the legacy tools they tolerate

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • Frontend: Skilled with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar). Strong understanding of design systems and building clean, performant UIs

  • Backend: Proficient in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, Rust, C++ or similar). Experience designing REST/GraphQL APIs and distributed systems

  • Databases: Hands-on with relational (Postgres/MySQL) and ideally non-relational or graph databases

  • Cloud: Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • DevOps: Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC (Terraform)

  • Mindset: Pragmatic, product-driven engineer who thrives in high-velocity startup environments

  • Bonus: Experience building applications with AI/LLM integrations, or exposure to ITSM/enterprise workflows. Taking products from 0 to 1

What We Offer

  • Build foundational product features for an AI-first enterprise platform

  • The opportunity to take ownership of critical systems that scale to millions of users

  • A culture that values craftsmanship, autonomy, and technical excellence

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package

  • Work from our Mid-Town, Manhattan office, where you’ll be side-by-side with the founding team in a supportive, collaborative setting. Our team works on-site five days a week, growing and building together, and the location is easy to reach with plenty of public transportation options.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
