Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled CloudOps Engineer to drive the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for upholding cloud management policies, migrating on-premise applications to the cloud, debugging cloud stacks, and deploying new cloud applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing automation solutions to streamline processes, such as writing scripts to run specific tasks on computer systems
- Collaborating with product development and architecture teams to evaluate and implement new services based on requirements
- Implementing security measures to ensure data integrity
- Designing, building and maintaining highly available systems for SaaS products
- Developing, configuring and deploying monitoring tools and scripts for applications and systems
- Recommending changes to the application architecture or design to improve the performance and efficiency of SaaS or PaaS products
- Installing and configuring software following installation procedure and organizational guidelines
- Troubleshooting and resolving incidents while collaborating with the development to minimize downtime and maintain service quality
- Monitoring and analyzing cloud resource usage to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Staying current with emerging technologies, trends and platforms and adapting to the changing workplace environment
- Creating and maintaining technical documents for cloud infrastructure and related processes
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in cloud computing
- Knowledge of configuring load balancers
- Knowledge of setting up microservices
- Proficiency with Terraform (or IaC-alike tools)
- Familiarity with container orchestration
- Expertise in installing releases
- Expertise in monitoring tools such as CloudWatch or Dynatrace
- Experience in certificate management
- Familiar with containerization (Docker) and cloud orchestration (AWS preferred)
- Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and take action
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions
- Considers ‘best-practice’ standards, as well as departmental policies and procedures
- Experience in Windows and Linux systems, CLI and scripting
- Working experience with one or more flavors of SQL RDBMS administration and scripting DDL and DML
- Experience with direct customer contact (tech support, customer service, etc.)
