JOB SUMMARY:

Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Cloud Architect to join our team and support Federal Agency project centered around Data Management and Analytics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that enhance data management, governance, and analytics capabilities across the federal agencies. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in cloud architecture, data security, and enterprise solutions to ensure robust and scalable data solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that support the migration from legacy systems to AWS GovCloud, ensuring best practices in security and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cloud-based data integration frameworks using AWS services, including Redshift, S3, and other relevant tools.
• Evaluate existing cloud solutions and recommend improvements to optimize performance, cost, and security in data management operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal standards and USDA policies in the design and implementation of cloud solutions, including data governance and cybersecurity measures.
• Provide guidance and expertise in cloud architecture principles, data modeling, and cloud-native technologies to technical teams.
• Develop documentation, including architecture diagrams and technical specifications, to communicate cloud strategies and designs to stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of disaster recovery and continuity of operations strategies in the cloud environment.
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to guide the organization in adopting innovative solutions.


Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud architecture in a public sector or federal government environment, with a focus on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Proven experience in designing and deploying scalable and secure cloud-based solutions in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, AWS Well-Architected Framework), and cloud security best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related field.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent preferred.

OTHER:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability and willingness to obtain security clearance.
