About the Office

The Office of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for enabling State Bar’s internal and external stakeholders by the management, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's technology to support of State Bar’s mission and goals. The office’s primary goals are to build and maintain functional capabilities, to support innovation and to ensure that all systems are running smoothly, efficiently, and securely to support the needs of the organization and its stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Cloud Application Solutions Specialist (IT Analyst II) to support the office’s Cloud Application Solutions  and lead in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of cloud-based business solutions across Microsoft technologies and related cloud applications. This role works closely with business and technical teams to translate operational needs into practical low/no-code solutions that improve processes, strengthen governance, and scale securely across the organization. The position requires hands-on configuration and development skills, sound business judgment, strong customer service, and the ability to create clear documentation that supports adoption and long-term sustainability.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role is a collaborative, detail-oriented, and skilled professional with extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Purview. They understand how cloud application development, automations, business objectives, data governance, and security work together to form scalable, secure, and business aligned solutions. This person is comfortable learning new tools, writing scripts and automations, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. They communicate clearly with both business and technical audiences and proactively improve the environments they support. They also demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning through relevant certifications, professional development, and staying current with evolving technologies.

Examples of Essential Duties 

  • Partners with business units and technical teams to translate operational needs into business-aligned cloud application solutions across Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Purview, Power BI, and related applications.

  • Design, build, implement, maintain, and enhance low/no-code solutions, workflows, reports, forms, and integrations using platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Provide professional customer support for cloud application issues, requirements, enhancements, and user needs.

  • Design, configure, administer, and enhance SharePoint Online sites, lists, forms, libraries, pages, web parts, permissions, workflows, and lifecycle controls.

  • Develop and maintain Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, Power BI reports, and integrations that support business operations.

  • Use form and document automation tools such as DocuSign, Salesforce Forms, and/or HotDocs to streamline data collection and document creation.

  • Review and optimize cloud application configurations to align with business objectives, security requirements, governance standards, and best practices.

  • Support data governance within cloud applications by applying permissions, access controls, data validation, sensitivity labels, retention labels, and lifecycle practices.

  • Monitor and evaluate system performance, usage, risks, adoption, and metrics to identify improvement opportunities and optimize resources.

  • Coordinate assigned cloud application projects, including requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, testing, deployment, user readiness, and post-deployment improvements.

  • Prepare technical documentation, solution designs, requirements, workflow diagrams, procedures, user guides, training materials, reports, and communications.

  • Write and maintain scripts, automations, workflows, and application logic based on established requirements and specifications.

  • Test, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud application, workflow, reporting, permissions, and integration issues.

  • Validate solutions against business requirements, security expectations, usability standards, and operational needs.

  • Conduct training and provide support for users and internal technology staff on new or updated cloud applications, workflows, reports, forms tools, and related systems.

  • Identify recurring issues, user pain points, and process gaps and recommends improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, usability, and adoption.

  • Build and maintain positive and professional working relationships with co-workers, business users, vendors, and the public.

  • Provide after-hours support as required.

     

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field that develops skills related to essential duties, or equivalent academic achievement

Experience

  • Two (2) years of fulltime, progressively responsible experience in the analysis and troubleshooting of computer applications and operations is desirable.   

License, Certificate, Registration Requirements

  • Possession of approved information technology certificates and/or completion of other approved technology-related training may substitute for some or all of the required education; certification or equivalent training hours is equal to one (1) year of education. 
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals, SharePoint Administrator Associate) are preferred.

Desired Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint design, configuration, and management.
  • 2+ years of experience developing low-code solutions using platforms like Microsoft Power Platform.

Applicants who meet the Minimum Qualifications will be required to successfully complete the State Bar’s selection process for this classification.
