A Little About Us

The Yahoo Ads Client Experience and Performance (CXP) team is dedicated to building and maintaining deep partnerships with Yahoo’s most valuable clients. We serve as the operational engine for Yahoo Advertising, bridging the gap between sales strategy and technical execution to ensure our clients achieve world-class results.

About the Role

As a Client Performance Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for the creation, management, and evaluation of digital ad campaigns. This role requires close collaboration with Yahoo’s sales reps, Client Experience Leads, and clients to ensure the success of ad campaigns from inception to completion. The CP team thrives in a fast-paced work environment and excels both individually and as part of a team. Adaptability, quick learning, and an understanding of current digital advertising trends are essential.

In this role, you will manage high-value campaigns for clients, providing the expertise needed to optimize performance and protect revenue. You will take ownership of complex workstreams and serve as a go-to resource for your teammates on operational best practices across all Yahoo ad platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end operational oversight of campaign setup and billing, partnering with internal entities such as Yahoo Brand Studios, Legal, and Financial Operations to ensure quality execution.

  • Oversee the creation and management of complex creative/ad builds across all platforms, ensuring technical specifications and client KPIs are met.

  • Monitor the health of high-value campaigns and collaborate proactively with account teams to enhance performance and troubleshoot operational issues.

  • Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies in daily workflows to reduce manual tasks and accelerate campaign launch timelines.

  • Act as a key consultant for sales reps and Client Experience Leads, providing creative performance evaluations that translate data into strategic recommendations.

  • Partner with legal, billing and collections teams to resolve complex issues, ensuring seamless financial reconciliation for your book of business.

  • Utilize AI-augmented analysis to detect delivery anomalies or performance trends, suggesting proactive creative optimizations to client teams.

  • Replace repetitive reporting or administrative tasks with automated or AI-assisted workflows to focus on high-impact strategic work.

  • Lead specific project phases or team-wide workstreams, providing operational guidance and mentorship to colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in digital advertising operations, campaign management, or a related field.

  • Experience or strong interest in using AI productivity tools to synthesize data, improve communications, and drive operational speed.

  • Extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple high-value projects under tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal guidance, prioritizing high-impact goals and making sound judgments in ambiguous situations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, specifically in a cross-functional environment involving Sales and Legal.

  • Technical proficiency with Google Workspace and macOS.

  • BS/BA from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A mindset focused on AI-augmented oversight—viewing emerging tools as a way to increase impact rather than just efficiency.

  • Experience with advanced digital advertising platforms and a deep understanding of current industry trends.

  • Previous experience in a client-facing operational role for a large-scale media company.

The material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
