Where you’ll see your impact:
NuvoAir is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Claims Submission Specialist to join our team on a 1099 contractor basis. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely submission of insurance claims and working with payers to support clean and complete reimbursement. This position plays a vital role in our mission to serve older adults managing chronic respiratory and cardiac diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
Submit professional claims (CMS-1500) electronically to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payersMonitor claims through their full lifecycle: submission, acceptance, rejections, and denials
Resolve rejections and denials through timely edits, appeals, and follow-ups
Collaborate with internal clinical and billing teams to ensure accuracy in coding and documentation
Maintain knowledge of payer rules, guidelines, and changes related to chronic care management and remote patient monitoring
Track and report claims status, trends, and resolution rates regularlyEnsure HIPAA compliance in all billing processes
This may be a fit if you have:
2+ years of experience in healthcare claims submission or medical billing, preferably with Medicare and chronic care billing
Strong understanding of CPT/HCPCS codes related to remote care and chronic disease management (e.g., CCM, RPM, RTM)
Familiarity with claim clearinghouses and EHR/PM systems (Athena)
Experience working with older adult populations and chronic disease services is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
Strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlines
U.S.-based; must be authorized to work as an independent contractor (1099)
Compensation 1099 hourly rate: $20-$25/hour
