Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. Created by an experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts, Homebound is transforming the residential construction industry by improving the costly and inefficient process of building a home.

We’ve created an entirely new way to build homes with technology powering every stage from start to finish to provide a seamless experience for our customers. Homeowners across the country can choose where they want to live, select a home plan that’s perfect for them, then personalize and buy it, all online. Homebound has raised $150M in capital from leading venture capitalists like Google, Khosla, Thrive Ventures, and we’re scaling quickly in places like Texas, Colorado and Florida. Come build your future with us.

Homebound is proud to be named one of Inc.’s Best Workplaces of 2023.

About the Role:

Homebound is seeking a City Launcher to lead our Los Angeles wildfire rebuild efforts and provide essential housing solutions to support the community's recovery. As the face of Homebound, the City Launcher will build key local relationships, drive on-the-ground efforts, and help establish Homebound’s presence in the community. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to ensure a seamless and impactful market entry. The ideal candidate will have a self-starter mindset, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Homebound has a proven track record of successfully helping to rebuild communities after natural disasters, having supported recovery efforts in Fort Myers, FL, Santa Rosa, CA, and Colorado. We hope to bring that experience to Los Angeles to help rebuild lives and homes in the wake of these devastating wildfires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Homebound’s primary representative in Los Angeles, attending city hall meetings, insurance adjuster discussions, and other key stakeholder engagements.

  • Represent Homebound in front of key external stakeholders (including government officials, vendors, and community partners) and build strong working relationships to drive Homebound’s market entry strategy.

  • Develop & execute market launch plans, own the day-to-day execution of the launch plan, with minimal direction and a high degree of autonomy.

  • Act as the on-the-ground coordinator, problem-solving in real-time and adjusting strategies based on shifting market dynamics.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including growth, legal, and construction to ensure all aspects of the market launch are aligned and progressing.

  • Track and report on launch milestones, market insights, and customer interest to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in launching a new market, product launch, or a background in General Management or other related fields.

  • Experience working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with minimal structure (e.g., consulting, startups, or entrepreneurial ventures).

  • Comfortable representing Homebound externally while building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, vendors, community leaders, and potential partners.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and timelines.

  • Ability to think strategically while also executing on tactical tasks.

  • Knowledge of the Los Angeles market is preferred and must be based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate immediately.

We will accept applications for this role until May 2, 2025.

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. To apply, please submit an application with your resume on the Career’s page.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Please note that the salary range displayed on each job posting may vary by state. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
