Our client is an applied AI research company developing tools for safer use of AI in regulated industries. The team is turning research into production software for enterprise users.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this opportunity through the Paraform network. The position is with our client. As Chief Technology Officer, you will own technical direction while remaining hands-on. You will build evaluation and training infrastructure, bring research prototypes into production, and grow the engineering team.

What you'll do

- Set engineering architecture and research priorities with company leadership.

- Build evaluations and reinforcement-learning environments for regulated financial workflows.

- Turn research prototypes into production guardrails.

- Hire and mentor an initial engineering team of 3 to 6 people.

- Work directly with design partners and build core infrastructure around their needs.


Requirements

What we're looking for

- 5 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including technical leadership.

- Experience hiring engineers, building teams, and creating systems from zero to one.

- Hands-on work with evaluation harnesses, RL environments, or training pipelines.

- Experience shipping AI or LLM products and production infrastructure.

- Experience with agentic retrieval, deployed customer solutions, self-hosted models, or testing environments.

- Current hands-on coding ability and US work authorization; visa transfers are supported.

Bonus points

- Experience building in fast-paced startup environments.

- A strong technical academic background.


Benefits

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 250,000 to 350,000 per year.

- Equity: 0.25-3%.

- Visa transfer support.
