About eJam

eJam is a consumer products company that has built, scaled, and exited multiple brands. Our portfolio includes category leaders ranked at the top of Amazon, carried in major retailers nationwide, and sold across DTC, marketplaces, and every channel in between. Our two largest brands are BugMD, clean-label pest control, and Shameless Snacks, low-sugar candy, both selling through Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop and national retail including Walmart, Target and Home Depot. We operate like a holding company with the speed of a startup: small teams with real ownership and accountability.

The Role

eJam has grown faster than its management layer. We have strong brand leaders and specialists, more than 100 people across more than a dozen countries, and 12 open seats. What we do not yet have is one operating rhythm that connects the executive team to each brand and each department. The Chief of Staff builds that rhythm and runs it.

This is an operator's role, not an advisory one. You will own how eJam plans, meets, decides, documents and follows through, and you will spend your first 90 days inside the BugMD growth and marketing teams, where the handoffs between creative, media buying, conversion, retention and marketplace need the most work. You do not own a P&L. You make sure the people who do own one deliver what they committed to.

What you'll own:
  • The operating system. Install and run one cadence across eJam using EOS or Scaling Up: weekly leadership meetings, scorecards, quarterly Rocks, an issues list, and one place where it all lives.
  • Quarterly and annual planning. Facilitate planning for eJam and each brand and publish 3 to 7 company priorities, each with one owner, within five days.
  • The weekly roll-up and follow-through. One clear view from the executive meeting through every brand and department, and direct follow-up with owners at every level, executives included.
  • The management layer. With People Operations, publish the accountability chart, write scorecards for every manager seat, right-size spans of control and coach first-time managers.
  • Marketing operations. Map and fix how work moves from brief to creative to launch to reporting across paid acquisition, creative, CRO, retention and marketplace.
  • Hiring and CEO leverage. Scorecards and 90-day plans for every senior hire, executive onboarding, board and investor materials, the decision log, and special projects.

RequirementsWhat you bring:
  • 8 to 12+ years in business operations, strategy, program management or general management, including 3+ years in a consumer products, DTC or omnichannel company between $50M and $500M in revenue.
  • You have personally implemented and run EOS (Traction), Scaling Up or the Rockefeller Habits for at least two full annual cycles, and can show what you built.
  • Marketing fluency: you have worked inside or alongside a performance marketing team and CAC, MER, LTV and contribution margin are everyday vocabulary.
  • Working knowledge of Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, paid social and search, and retail accounts such as Walmart, Target and Home Depot.
  • Formal program or PMO experience, and deep fluency in ClickUp or a comparable tool.
  • You have managed managers and helped build a first layer of middle management.
  • You have worked directly for a founder or CEO and earned the standing to disagree with them.
  • Experience with distributed teams and international contractors across time zones.

Benefits
  • Base salary: $185,000 to $225,000, based on experience.
  • Annual bonus: 15% to 20% of base, tied to company priorities and EBITDA.
  • Stock options with four-year vesting.
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and 14 company holidays.
  • Pet-friendly office.
Why eJam
  • We build and scale category-leading eCommerce brands
  • We operate with speed, ownership, and accountability
  • Ideas move quickly from concept to execution
  • Every team member has direct impact on company growth
  • We value operators who think strategically and execute decisively

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
