POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief of Staff to the Chief Product Officer is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring the Product organization executes efficiently, remains aligned across teams, and delivers on its strategic priorities.

This role serves as the operational backbone of the Product organization—partnering closely with Product Leaders, Engineering, Data & Analytics, Operations, and Executive Leadership to drive planning, execution, governance, communication, and cross-functional initiatives.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building executive presentations, driving large-scale product initiatives, facilitating executive meetings, managing complex project plans, and holding teams accountable for execution. They are highly organized, analytical, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Partner with the Chief Product Officer to translate strategic priorities into actionable execution plans.
  • Build and maintain the Product organization's annual, quarterly, and monthly operating plans.
  • Develop and manage product roadmaps, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities.
  • Track progress against key initiatives and proactively identify execution risks.
  • Drive accountability across Product leadership to ensure commitments are delivered on time.

Product Organization Program Management

  • Build and maintain integrated project plans across all Product initiatives.
  • Coordinate work across Product Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, Clinical, Network, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Lead cross-functional program management for major product launches.
  • Establish governance processes for strategic initiatives.
  • Remove roadblocks and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Ensure dependencies across teams are identified and managed effectively.

Product Operations

  • Help establish best practices for Product Management processes.
    • Coordinate product planning cycles, roadmap reviews, and prioritization sessions.
    • Develop standardized operating rhythms across Product teams.
    • Improve visibility into product delivery and organizational performance.
    • Create dashboards and executive reporting for product initiatives.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Product organization.
  • Executive Support to the CPO

    Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Chief Product Officer by:

    • Preparing executive presentations and board materials.
    • Coordinating executive communications.
    • Managing leadership meetings and action items.
    • Preparing strategic analyses and recommendations.
    • Conducting research on market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
    • Managing follow-up activities from executive meetings.
    • Representing the CPO in meetings when appropriate.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership

    Partner closely with:

    • Product Management
    • Data & Analytics

    • Executive Leadership
  • to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

    Performance Management

    • Develop KPIs for Product organization performance.
    • Monitor execution against strategic objectives.
    • Track product delivery metrics.
    • Identify opportunities to improve execution efficiency.
    • Support Product Leaders with operational planning and resource management.
  • Communication & Change Management

    • Develop executive-ready communications for organizational initiatives.
    • Coordinate Product organization updates across the company.
    • Drive transparency into product priorities and progress.
    • Facilitate quarterly planning sessions.
    • Lead executive-level meeting preparation and follow-up.
  • Special Projects

    Lead high-impact strategic initiatives such as:

    • New product launches
    • Organizational transformation initiatives
    • AI and automation programs
    • Product process optimization
    • Executive strategic projects
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 7–10+ years of experience in Product Management, Strategy, Consulting, Program Management, Product Operations, or Chief of Staff roles.
    • Experience working directly with senior executives.
    • Strong project and program management experience.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proven ability to influence without direct authority.
    • Advanced presentation development skills (PowerPoint).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Preferred

    • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
    • Experience in healthcare technology, workers' compensation, insurance, or SaaS.
    • Experience with Agile Product Management methodologies.
    • Familiarity with AI-enabled product development.
    • Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives.
