This role will help ensure that IT changes are planned, assessed, approved, executed, and reviewed with consistency, transparency, and appropriate control.

The Change Manager will serve as a central coordinator for change governance across IT operations, applying risk-based change practices, supporting cross-functional alignment, maintaining audit-ready documentation, and driving continuous improvement in change performance. The role requires close partnership with IT-dependent teams in Vantage, vendors, MSP (Managed Service Provider) partners, and regional stakeholders.

Position Overview

This role can be based in Denver, CO with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days flexible) or be based remotely.

This is an operationally focused IT service management role responsible for governing the end-to-end lifecycle of IT change requests, from submission through approval, execution, post-change review, reporting, and improvement. The Change Manager will promote disciplined change control while enabling the speed and flexibility required to support global business growth.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of ITIL practices, change risk assessment, stakeholder communication, service impact management, compliance expectations, and high-availability enterprise operations. The ideal candidate can translate technical change details into clear business-facing communication and can drive alignment across distributed teams and time zones.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of IT change management processes, ensuring alignment with global policies, service management expectations, operational excellence standards, and business priorities.

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT change requests from intake and assessment through approval, execution, validation, and post-change review.

  • Apply a risk-based change framework to categorize changes, identify service impacts, define required approvals, ensure appropriate mitigation plans, and reduce the likelihood of failed changes or avoidable service disruption.

  • Facilitate change advisory discussions, readiness reviews, scheduling reviews, and stakeholder communications to ensure changes are clearly understood across impacted teams and regions.

  • Partner with business teams, site teams, vendors, and MSP partners to coordinate change execution and manage dependencies.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready change records, including scope, risk, implementation plans, backout plans, approvals, communications, validation evidence, and post-change outcomes.

  • Monitor and report change-related metrics and KPIs, including approval timeliness, risk profile, emergency change volume, failed change trends, post-change issues, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Support operational readiness for major initiatives, technology refreshes, construction-related IT deployments, cloud governance changes, endpoint lifecycle changes, network modernization activities, and infrastructure transformation programs.

  • Create and maintain clear change management guidance, templates, knowledge articles, and training materials that help IT teams submit high-quality changes and follow consistent governance practices.

  • Conduct training and coaching sessions for change submitters, implementers, approvers, and stakeholders to improve process adoption, quality, transparency, and accountability.

  • Identify process gaps, recurring change issues, tooling opportunities, automation candidates, and reporting improvements that strengthen IT service delivery and operational resilience.

  • Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in IT change management, service management, automation, high-availability operations, and data center technology environments.

  • Support resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity, compliance, and operational risk management activities by ensuring changes are planned and controlled in accordance with enterprise requirements.

  • Additional details as assigned by management.

About You

Ideally, you bring the following skills, qualifications, and characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations, infrastructure, network, cloud, service delivery, service desk, or data center technology environments, with at least 2 years in a change management, ITSM, governance, or operational controls role.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL or similar service management frameworks, including change enablement, incident management, problem management, configuration management, service request management, and continual improvement.

  • Experience using ServiceNow or an equivalent ITSM/change management platform to manage change workflows, approvals, documentation, reporting, and governance.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, end-user computing, endpoint management, and high-availability technology environments.

  • Ability to assess change risk, identify dependencies, challenge incomplete implementation plans, and drive clear mitigation, validation, and rollback planning.

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to operational teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through, accurate documentation practices, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across time zones.

  • Collaborative and service-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a global team in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.

  • Experience with IT operational metrics, KPI reporting, process documentation, audit support, compliance standards, automation, and workflow improvement preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
