The Southern California Global Design Center Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking a Certification Integration Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to become part of the Commercial Modifications Engineering IPT in Long Beach, California.
The Certification Integration Engineer will lead certification planning and integration for post-production airplane modifications across Boeing platforms (e.g., 737, 777, 787), ensuring regulatory compliance from concept through FAA acceptance.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Mid-Level and Senior Certification Integration Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead certification planning and integration across internal and external teams to document post-production certification requirements for major change commercial modification projects
  • Review and fully understand project statements of work to identify safety and certification impacts
  • Participate in milestone reviews (ITCM, PDR, CDR) and verify certification readiness for each gate
  • Define certification plan scope, structure, phases, and schedule; create and maintain the Certification Strategy Document
  • Coordinate with Program Management, design engineers, DAEs, E-UMs, and any technical staff to develop and complete certification inputs
  • Validate compliance to FAA Title 14 Part 25 (and/or EASA equivalent) and draft executive summaries
  • Own certification plans and deliverable matrices for ATC/STC projects from conception through Regulatory Administration and FAA acceptance
  • Manage multiple certification plans concurrently, ensuring on-time, first-pass quality and alignment with modification schedules
  • Track and report certification status and risks; escalate and drive issue resolution to closure

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience implementing processes and standards compliant with airplane certification standards and/or FAA certification standards
  • 3+ years of experience supporting cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience working with 14 CFR part 25 Certification compliance in the planning, Testing, and closure phases of a FAA certification project

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.)
  • Commercial aircraft interior commodity experience (Interior commodities are items such as overhead stowage bins, lavatories, galleys, seats, PSU, sidewalls, air grilles, flight deck seats, etc.)
  • Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Engineering Unit Members (E-UM), Design Approval Engineer (DAE), Certification Plan Owner (CPO), Design Engineer experience
  • Previous experience working in an aircraft modification environment or with Supplemental Type Certification (STC)
  • Experience working with external suppliers
  • Ability to travel domestic & international up to 10% of the time

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $119,850 - $162,150
Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $146,200 - $197,800
