Summary 
The Career Opportunities & Alumni Coordinator, working in furtherance of the firm’s strategic initiatives, supports several key elements of the Career Opportunities and Alumni program. The Coordinator partners within and across teams and departments, including Marketing, Communications, Business Development, Talent Development, and administrative and executive leadership team members to achieve firm strategic business objectives and goals. 


The Coordinator supports the delivery of the firm’s Career Opportunities and Alumni program strategy by assisting in the management of the external career opportunities platform for lawyers; coordinating alumni engagement programs, communications, and events; maintaining Career Opportunities and Alumni program data; and supporting the operational processes and workflows that facilitate alumni connectivity, talent mobility, and relationship-building across the firm’s network.


The Coordinator serves as a key representative for the firm’s internal and external Career Opportunities and Alumni program, including related technology, people, processes, and best practices. 
 
Location  
This position can sit in our Houston, San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Dallas office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned office and be available for periodic travel. 
 
Responsibilities 

  • Maintain and update the Career Opportunities team’s candidate database, documenting key candidate information to facilitate targeted career opportunity identification and outreach. 
  • Manage and update shared notes and activity records following Career Opportunities Discussion meetings and outreach efforts. 
  • Maintain Career Opportunities tracking tools and reporting resources, including success metrics and placement outcomes. 
  • Track attorney transitions, including arrivals from and departures to in-house legal positions. 
  • Support administration of the firm’s Career Opportunities Board by identifying relevant opportunities for posting and assisting with related outreach.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of alumni engagement initiatives and events. 
  • Assist with alumni data management efforts to ensure accurate records and effective engagement with the alumni network. 
  • Review and maintain Career Opportunities and Alumni-related content on firm intranet and Fusion pages, including validating links and identifying content requiring updates. 
  • Assist with the development, review, and distribution of Career Opportunities and Alumni communications, including newsletters, event invitations, platform content, promotional campaigns, reminders, and related communications materials. 
  • Provide administrative and project support for departmental initiatives and special projects. 
  • Leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve program efficiency, reporting, communications, and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Other duties and assignments in support of the Senior Manager, Career Development & Alumni, Deputy Chief of Talent Integration, and any special projects and activities of the firm, including supporting the What In-house lawyers Need (WIN) program and Talent Integration team. 
     

Desired Skills    
High-energy professional with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced setting. Ability to identify ways to improve operational efficiency and meet deadlines. Strong writing, proofreading, and critical editing skills, with a keen attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365: Word/Excel/PowerPoint required; basic HTML skills preferred; and the ability to format graphs, charts, and other visual methods of presenting information. Proficiency with emerging technologies, including AI tools, and a willingness to adopt and apply new solutions that improve efficiency, collaboration, and service delivery consistent with the firm’s strategic objectives and responsible AI principles. 


Effective communication, data and reporting support, client service, and project coordination skills. This role works effectively both independently and as part of a high-performing team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program objectives. Additional proficiencies include strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and analytical and problem-solving skills. Maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and demonstrate ownership, initiative, and commitment to the job. 

Minimum Education               

  • Associate's Degree. 
     

Preferred Education               

  • Bachelor’s Degree.  

Minimum Years of Experience   

  • 2 years of experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or similar environment. Career development and alumni relations experience preferred.

Physical Demands 
Sedentary work: This is primarily sedentary work, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The role involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing, and occasional travel, both domestic and international. 
 
Work Environment     
The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement combining remote and in-office work. The specific arrangement will be determined at the time of hiring and may be modified at the firm's discretion.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $35.79 - $48.75 per hour depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. 


The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
