As an Applied Scientist Summer Associate, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative applications utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Assist in researching and developing cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence applications that enable sales and marketing teams to empower financial advisors with relevant investment solutions.
- Analyze patterns from thousands of behavioral characteristics of financial advisors and investors, market news, and economic data to personalize investment outcomes.
- Support the development of Neural Network-based frameworks to solve defined problems, understand model diagnostics, focus on ML engineering aspects to deploy scalable solutions, and summarize model results for business stakeholders.

- Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
- Relevant coursework or projects in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analysis.
- Practical experience or strong interest in Large Language Models (LLM) and generative AI, including parameter-efficient fine-tuning, instruction fine-tuning, advanced prompt engineering, and Agent technology.
- Basic knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning architectures, such as Transformers, training methodologies, and optimization techniques.
- A strong commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in the field and applying cutting-edge academic research to solve complex business challenges.
- Experience contributing to research communities, such as publishing papers or blog articles related to machine learning, is a plus.
Base Hourly Rate: $40/hour

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
