Summary of Role:
We are seeking an Advisory Supervising Senior Associate for our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team. The Supervising Senior Associate will be responsible for review of month end close deliverables for 7-9 clients on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. The CAAS practice is part of GHJ’s larger Advisory practice, offering a broad exposure to forward thinking services, exciting clients and a rewarding professional environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Performing month end closing activities for a collection of clients
- Reviewing client financials, including bank and credit card reconciliations, invoicing, billing, treasury management, accounts payable, payroll processing, and expense reporting.
- Integrating data from secondary software (e.g., POS systems, payroll systems) into clients' GL software
- Preparing journal entries and gathering respective support for review
- Reconciling account balances to supporting schedules
- Preparing work papers and drafting financial statements
- Writing management reports
- Conducting investigation on variances
- Researching and solving more complex accounting issues
- Interacting with clients in a professional manner as a primary point of contact
- Managing competing deliverables and communicating accordingly with clients and internal team
- Monitoring client scopes, budgets, and profitability
- Identifying and anticipating roadblocks and working to provide solutions
- Assisting Managers and Partners with various advisory projects as needed, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and data analysis
- Supervising and assisting in training CAAS Associates and seniors

What skills & experience you'll bring to us:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or similar related field with a desire to build practical experience in an advisory arena
- 4-5 years of experience in private or public accounting
- QuickBooks Online experience preferred
- Sage experience preferred
- Net Suite experience preferred
- Cost accounting experience preferred
- Understanding of accrual-basis accounting and GAAP
- Experience with drafting financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) in accordance with US GAAP

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. At GHJ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $107,500-$125,000.
