Job Description
NBCUniversal's Enterprise Business Solutions Team builds products and digital capabilities that support organizations across NBCUniversal. The team partners closely with engineering and business stakeholders to create cohesive, scalable, end-to-end solutions that improve how employees access information, communicate, and engage across the enterprise.
As part of the Enterprise Business Solutions Workplace team, the Business Systems Analysis Manager serves as a key Digital Workplace Solutions resource, partnering with Corporate Communications, Workplace stakeholders, Engineering, and enterprise technology teams to shape and optimize employee-facing digital experiences. The role provides expertise across digital workplace and communications technologies, including CMS and intranet platforms, web experiences, email and campaign technologies, event management solutions, employee engagement platforms, integrations, data, search, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities. Serving as a subject matter expert and strategic technology partner, the Business Systems Analysis Manager translates business and employee needs into scalable digital solutions, guides product and solution decisions, and helps ensure workplace platforms operate as an integrated ecosystem rather than standalone technologies.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Digital Workplace and Corporate Communications technology, including intranet and internet solutions, content management systems (CMS), email and campaign platforms, event technologies, employee engagement tools, analytics, search, integrations, and emerging AI-enabled workplace capabilities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of employee journeys, business processes, content needs, platform capabilities, data, and integrations to identify opportunities to improve the digital employee experience.
  • Analyze complex and sometimes ambiguous business needs and translate them into clear solution requirements, experience recommendations, and technology capabilities.
  • Help define product vision, strategy, roadmaps, capabilities, and success measures for key Digital Workplace products and services.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Engineering and other technology teams to translate strategic needs into scalable, connected digital workplace solutions.
  • Evaluate platform capabilities, integrations, data sources, technical dependencies, and solution alternatives to inform product and platform decisions.
  • Translate business and employee needs into actionable artifacts, including business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, data requirements, and integration requirements.
  • Own and prioritize product requirements and backlogs based on employee and business value, platform strategy, dependencies, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Facilitate solution design and working sessions across Corporate Communications, Engineering, operations, and business teams to establish requirements, resolve complex issues, and drive decisions.
  • Partner with technology vendors and internal Engineering teams to evaluate platform capabilities, solution options, integrations, and enhancements against business and employee experience needs.
  • Define and monitor platform and experience success measures, using analytics, employee feedback, operational insights, and business outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Establish reusable standards, requirements frameworks, and solution practices that improve consistency and scalability across the Digital Workplace portfolio.
  • Mentor junior team members and help strengthen Digital Workplace, business systems analysis, and product practices across the team.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, computer science, communications technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Digital Workplace, Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, Employee Experience, or related enterprise technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with digital workplace and communications platforms, including technologies such as intranet and web platforms, content management systems (CMS), email and campaign platforms, event management technologies, employee engagement tools, or digital asset management solutions.
  • Experience translating business and employee needs into scalable technology solutions, including business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and solution recommendations.
  • Experience contributing to digital product strategy, roadmaps, platform enhancements, and capability planning, with the ability to balance business value, user experience, technical feasibility, and dependencies.
  • Strong experience partnering with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and technology vendors to evaluate solutions and guide products from discovery and design through implementation and ongoing optimization.
  • Experience working in Agile product development environments, including requirements definition, backlog refinement, feature scoping, iteration planning, testing, and release readiness.
  • Experience with Jira or similar product development tools used to manage requirements, user stories, features, backlogs, and development activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate complex business and technology challenges, identify dependencies and trade-offs, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience leveraging platform analytics, employee insights, and other data to evaluate digital experiences, identify opportunities, and inform product and solution decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear analysis, recommendations, and executive-level communications.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience in Media industry or experience supporting enterprise communication technologies
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communicator, skilled in storytelling and verbal reasoning
  • Ability to gather and comprehend requirements and challenges across all levels of the business
  • Ability to convey complex technical issues internally to both technical and non-technical individuals

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
