Summary:
We are currently looking for a dedicated, driven, and enthusiastic Business Development Specialist to join our Marketplace team. This role will primarily focus on identifying, developing, and acquiring new sellers and business partners for Yami Marketplace.

In addition to new business development, the position will also support selected seller accounts after onboarding to ensure successful launch, seller performance, and continued business growth. The ideal candidate is commercially driven, comfortable with outbound business development, and capable of building long-term relationships with sellers.



Job Responsibilities:
  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new sellers, brands, distributors, and business partners for Yami Marketplace through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and other sourcing channels.

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects to support seller acquisition and revenue goals.

  • Understand prospective sellers' business needs and effectively communicate Yami Marketplace's value proposition through business presentations and discussions.

  • Manage the full business development cycle, including prospecting, qualification, negotiation, contract execution, and onboarding coordination.

  • Research market trends, product categories, brands, and seller opportunities to expand Marketplace selection and identify new business opportunities.

  • Manage selected seller accounts after onboarding and serve as the primary point of contact for ongoing business needs.

  • Monitor seller performance, including GMV, product selection, pricing, inventory, fulfillment, refund rate, store rating, and content quality.

  • Partner with sellers to improve performance, expand product selection, optimize inventory, and identify opportunities to increase revenue.

  • Conduct regular business reviews and develop action plans to address seller performance issues and growth opportunities.

  • Support Fulfillment by Yami (FBY) sellers in improving inventory efficiency, fulfillment performance, and overall seller experience.

  • Gather seller feedback and communicate seller needs, operational challenges, and improvement opportunities to internal teams.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Account Management, Product, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to support seller onboarding and growth.

  • Track seller pipeline, account performance, KPIs, and sales forecasts and provide regular business updates.


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in e-commerce, retail sales, marketplace business development, account management, or a related field.

  • Experience working with Asian brands, sellers, retailers, or e-commerce businesses is preferred.

  • Experience with marketplace platforms, FBA, cross-border e-commerce, seller acquisition, or seller management is preferred.

  • Proven ability to generate new business through outbound prospecting, relationship building, negotiation, and account development.

  • Strong sales and business development mindset with the ability to manage both new seller acquisition and ongoing seller relationships.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate sales performance, seller KPIs, and business trends and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Comfortable using AI tools to support prospect research, lead generation, market research, business analysis, presentation preparation, and day-to-day productivity.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English, with the ability to communicate business concepts clearly and professionally.
