Work Shift:

Salary Exempt (United States of America) This position will lead sales and business development activities for Altium Packaging in the west coast. We are looking for a hunter who experience in a complex sales environment, has strong customer relationships and the motivation to find new business.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  

  • Expand Altium’s presence with customers by developing value creating commercial strategies with our portfolio packaging solutions
  • Use competitive analysis and market research to drive business goals. 
  • Daily hands-on execution of sales objectives to achieve KPIs, including sales reporting, market mapping and analytics, pipeline management, bid preparation etc. in order to drive growth in identified markets.    
  • Build and/or maintain a strong, sustainable relationship with strategic customers and partners by reinforcing quality, continuous innovation, and solution selling.   
  • Explore assigned markets to secure targeted accounts; opportunities to evaluate include product line extensions and expansion to fit on existing capital equipment, as well as validation of needs for additional equipment investments.
  • Interface with plant teams, customer service and group sales leaders and report findings.
  • Work as a team with assigned national market packaging development engineers to facilitate bringing value added products to the region.
  • Manage and communicate customer requirements, product marketing and act as a liaison to the manufacturing teams.
  • Assist in the areas of strategy development, customer design management, account management, and account support.
  • Attend sales and industry trade shows in order to network, learn substitute products and identify new opportunities and threats.
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts as well as weekly detailed sales and activity reports to management.
  • Consistently demonstrates Altium Packaging’s Guiding Principles. 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related discipline or equivalent experience 
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in technical sales role in a similar industry or calling on a similar customer base
  • Proven track record of obtaining new customers and a competitive mentality; a “hunter” and a closer
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate with a demonstrated background of closing deals 
  • Experience with large, national accounts and/or partnering with distributors
  • Greenfield sales, value selling, or solution selling experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) to build budgets and forecasts and to create presentations. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRMs) and sales pipeline management tools for tracking and reporting of current and future opportunities. 
  • Travel required based on business needs, approximately 50%

Preferred:

  • Packaging sales experience in the plastics industry

Targeted Pay Range:

$109,400.00 - $136,300.00
