In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you'll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.
The C4ISR Business area of BAE Systems is searching for a Business Development Lead in the Intelligence Community (IC) & DoD Space Ground systems market. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, maturing and winning new business opportunities. This role requires independence, resourcefulness, and a customer orientation. The BD professional must be capable of developing and maintaining customer and industry relationships in pursuit of new business while also progressing business development activities within classified environments In addition, this very broad business area demands a business development professional capable of driving new defense, intelligence, space and ground systems business as a prime and or sub-contractor. The position will report to the Mission Systems Business Development Director.
Responsibilities to include:
Participate in business planning activities, to include periodic pipeline reviews, operating plan development, bid agenda development, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, win theme and discriminator workshops, and proposal reviews.
Oversee the proposal phase. The BD Lead is responsible for managing all the activities necessary to transform qualified opportunities into wins.
Develop new market initiatives, conducting competitive assessments, maintaining and executing capture strategies with detailed call plans, and leading market survey responses.
Responsible for the identification and shaping of research and development activities
This position may be based out of multiple BAE sites across the US. Specifically: Dayton, OH, Greenlawn, NY, Nashua, NH, and Manassas, VA.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience in EOIR, RF, and ISR with an extensive background with AFRL programs and/or structure.
  • Knowledge in and experience with generating R&D programs--both large and small.
  • Strong customer and industry contacts within the IC & DoD Space Communities.
  • Working knowledge of US Government contracting, contract types and procurement processes and must be team-oriented and demonstrate strong reasoning and communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including opportunity qualification capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competition, team leadership, lead and follow core business development processes.
  • Participate in business planning activities, to include periodic pipeline reviews, operating plan development, bid agenda development, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, win theme and discriminator workshops, and proposal reviews.
  • Oversee the proposal phase. The BD Lead is responsible for managing all the activities necessary to transform qualified opportunities into wins.
  • Must currently possess US Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience marketing capabilities to the various U.S. Government Agencies responsible for Space capability procurement. Specific U.S. Government agencies of interest include the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Space Systems Center (SSC), Space Rapid Capabilities Office (Space RCO), Space Development Agency (SDA), and the various research organizations performing space capability development activities.
  • Previous experience working within the U.S. Government Space System Acquisition or Space Operations organizations is strongly desired.
  • Experience supporting business development programs with space industry customers focused on opportunity identification and development, long term strategy development, and program capture.
  • Demonstrated understanding and familiarity with existing DoD and IC space ground architectures and systems, future modernization plans, and key community stakeholders (across government and industry)
  • Top Secret/SCI

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
