Used by thousands of founders across the globe, our platform brings deep intelligence to core workflows involved in fundraising. In the long-term, our mission is to build the rails of the venture industry by bringing efficiency to venture rounds.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Analyst II who can operate autonomously and deliver high-impact outcomes across product and growth analytics. This role will lay down the early infrastructure for the analytics function to surface insights that shape product decisions, growth strategies, and customer outcomes.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to turn data into actionable strategies and measurable results.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive insights across product analytics, including user engagement, retention, funnel performance, and feature adoption.

  • Lead growth analytics initiatives to measure lead conversion, pipeline performance, and customer acquisition efficiency.

  • Build scalable reporting frameworks and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Partner with product, growth, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for experimentation and optimization.

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that guide strategic decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

Non negotiable qualities

  • Analytical rigor: ability to dig deep into data and uncover actionable insights.

  • Highly autonomous: thrives in ambiguity and can independently deliver outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills: can distill complex findings into clear narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Growth mindset: curious, resourceful, and eager to take ownership of new challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, product analytics, growth analytics, or a related analytical field.

  • Strong skills in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or similar)

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Experience working with SaaS products or in fast-paced, early-stage environments.

  • Track record of influencing decisions through data-driven insights.

Why Join Metal?

You’ll be part of building the analytics infrastructure from the ground up, with clear paths for growth as we scale. This role is particularly appealing to candidates seeking high growth career paths, especially within the analytics domain.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
