We're seeking a Browser Automation Engineer to join our team in Puerto Rico. We’re building an intelligent automation framework powered by large language models to solve complex, real-world workflows. We’re looking for a Browser Automation Engineer II with a strong foundation in JavaScript and experience designing complex browser automations for a variety of use cases. About this team 

The AI Technology Team within our Product Technology Group serves as BOLD’s internal incubator for applied AI, leveraging the latest large-language models to tackle our most complex challenges.

What you'll do 

  • Design, implement, and maintain browser automation scripts for new core products
  • Design systems to monitor large-scale browser automation systems for errors and drift
  • Develop robust testing and continuous integration strategies
  • Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end products & features
  • Mentor junior automation engineers and educates them on best practices
  • Rise above detail to see broader issues and implications for the whole product/team

What you'll need 

  • Extensive programming experience & strong understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Extensive knowledge of browser automation tooling (Playwright, Selenium, or Puppeteer)
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, and the DOM
  • Experience debugging intermittent automation failures and race conditions
  • Implementing or automating complex DOM patterns (shadow DOM, embedded iframes)
  • Depth of knowledge on general web architecture (network requests, cookies, fingerprints, Captchas, etc.)
  • Experience in Software development from design to release
  • Deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for solving complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams

What's good to have

  • Experience with web scraping at scale
  • Experience building LLM agents in any domain
  • Understanding of cloud computing (Azure, AWS) applied to automation
  • Understanding of the current state of bot detection on the web
  • API programming in JavaScript, Web service development - micro services, micro UIs, REST APIs
