Role Overview
The Brand Manager – EPIQ will lead all brand-building initiatives for the format, from strategic alliances and industry relationships to content creation, event marketing, and digital engagement. This is a cross-functional role that requires collaboration with theatre partners, production houses, internal teams, and external agencies to position EPIQ as the go-to destination for premium cinema.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Brand Partnerships
  • Identify and develop strategic alliances with large brands across various sectors—including but not limited to lifestyle, technology, automotive, banking, F&B, cement, fashion, and consumer goods.
  • Plan and execute co-branded experiences, in-theatre activations, and integrated campaigns that build brand value and amplify the EPIQ experience.
  • Lead all stages of the partnership process: from ideation and outreach to execution and impact evaluation.

Studio Partnerships for Promotional Content
  • Collaborate with production houses and film studios to create exclusive EPIQ-branded promotional content for major titles, including extended trailers, behind-the-scenes footage, and special previews.
  • Position EPIQ as the preferred cinematic format for visually spectacular content, in the way global formats like IMAX do with big releases.

Event Planning and Brand Activations
  • Plan and manage high-impact events at EPIQ theatres including screen launches, fan premieres, and branded experiences that drive excitement and attendance.
  • Coordinate with theatre partners, creative teams, and vendors for smooth execution and alignment with brand standards.

Merchandise Strategy and Execution
  • Develop and roll out EPIQ-branded merchandise for screen launches and marquee movie releases.
  • Lead design, production, and distribution in collaboration with creative and production partners.
  • Explore limited-edition co-branded merchandise with studios and consumer brands.

Social Media and Influencer Marketing
  • Build and execute a content calendar for EPIQ’s social media platforms, promoting new launches, partnerships, and the in-theatre experience.
  • Collaborate with influencers and creators who align with EPIQ’s brand values to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Monitor performance metrics and optimise content for reach, relevance, and audience growth.

Industry Outreach and Technical Evangelism
  • Build relationships with key film technicians such as cinematographers, directors, and producers to promote the use of EPIQ-friendly shooting methods, especially spherical lenses.
  • Represent EPIQ within the film industry as a technologically advanced and filmmaker-friendly format.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 6–8 years of experience in brand management, strategic partnerships, or entertainment marketing.
  • Prior experience in media, cinema, events, content, or lifestyle-focused industries is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage external relationships, lead cross-functional projects, and execute high-quality campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of audience behaviour, content trends, and digital platforms.
  • High attention to detail and a bias for action.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in executing strategic brand alliances or partnerships, including partner identification, negotiation, and end-to-end execution.
  • Prior exposure to working with film production houses or OTT platforms.
  • Experience in influencer marketing and digital campaign management.
  • Familiarity with cinema projection formats or the filmmaking process is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for movies and theatrical storytelling.
Work Environment
This role will involve close coordination with marketing, operations, creative, and business development teams. Occasional travel to EPIQ theatre sites and partner meetings is expected.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
