Bolt is on a mission to democratize commerce. We relentlessly prioritize our retailers—putting their brands front and center while enabling frictionless shopping at any touchpoint in the customer journey. At the center of it all is our rapidly growing universal shopper network—Bolt merchants such as Revolve, Lily Pulitzer, Kendra Scott, Lucky Brand Jeans, and Jonny Was can access tens of millions of shoppers, offering them a best-in-class checkout.

And revolutionizing ecommerce is only half of the equation—we’re also transforming the way we work. At Bolt, we have created a work environment where people learn to drive impact, take risks and make big bets, and grow from feedback, all while feeling welcomed and accepted for who they are. Come join us on the adventure today!

Please note: This is a 6 month contract position. We are only considering candidates who reside in South America at this time.

We’re looking for a talented Brand Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract. You’ll partner closely with our Head of Creative for the first month, then step in during their paternity leave starting in July—with continued collaboration afterward. This role could extend beyond 6 months based on team needs and performance.

Ideal for a mid-level designer with in-house experience (agency backgrounds welcome), you’ll work across a range of brand initiatives—from events and campaigns to social and web—bringing our identity to life in creative, cross-functional ways.

Your role at Bolt:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute design concepts that align with Bolt's brand.
  • Ensure consistency in design work aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Create visual assets for events, digital campaigns, presentations, and social media content both in static and video formats.
  • Apply website enhancements, designing and implementing landing pages.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
What would set you up for success:
  • 3+ years in brand design, preferably within an in-house creative team.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of projects across different mediums.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other relevant design tools.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • Experience designing for print media, including event signage, brochures, and OOH campaigns, ensuring high-quality production and brand consistency across physical assets.
  • Experience with CMS management and maintenance (Strapi preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication skills (fluent in English both writing and speaking), capable of clearly articulating your design choices.
  • Collaborative, facilitator and curious mindset, open to change and adaptation.
What would set you apart
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with design of consumer financial brands and applications.
  • Technology startup experience.
  • Familiarity with web design principles and user experience considerations.
  • Illustration skills (vector illustrations preferred).
  • Passion for staying current with design trends and applying them creatively.

Estimated cash compensation for this role is $2,000-$4,000 USD per month, depending on experience.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental and vision
  • Remote-first workplace
  • Time away: Flexible PTO, paid holidays + floating holidays, your birthday off!
  • Paid parental leave
  • Competitive Pay
  • Retirement plans
  • Virtual and in-person team & company events

In addition to our core values, Bolt is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity and expression, genetic information, pregnancy and related conditions, veteran status or any other reason prohibited by law. On our mission to democratize commerce, the Bolt platform levels the playing field for everyone. As a company, we are committed to designing products, building a culture, and supporting a team that reflects the diverse population we serve (that is, everyone).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
