Chowbus is a leading AI-powered restaurant technology SaaS platform with deep roots in the North American market. We support thousands of restaurants of every size across the U.S. and Canada, with technology solutions spanning POS, AI, and digital tools that help restaurants run more efficiently and grow their business. We compete with companies like Toast, Square, Clover, and Menusifu. Our Marketing team plays a direct role in that growth.

We are looking for a bilingual Graphic Designer (English and Mandarin) to create the visuals that help Chowbus grow. You'll design ads, sales materials, social content, and product education assets for restaurant owners across the U.S. and Canada. You'll report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with fellow Marketing team members, Sales colleagues, and Product specialists to keep every asset clear, consistent, and on brand.

What You’ll Do

Demand Generation & Digital Design

  • Design paid social, LinkedIn, Google Display, and retargeting ads that drive restaurant owners to book a Chowbus demo.
  • Create landing page, website, and email graphics, working with the Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing Campaigns Manager.
  • Produce ad sizes and creative variations for A/B testing, and use performance data to improve future designs.
  • Use AI design tools to speed up concepts, resizing, and variations while keeping quality high.

Sales, Event & Print Materials

  • Design sales decks, one-pagers, brochures, and case study layouts that help Sales explain Chowbus's value clearly.
  • Create trade show booths, banners, signage, and other materials for industry events and community activations.
  • Prepare print-ready files and work with outside printers and vendors to deliver on time and on budget.
  • Maintain a library of up-to-date sales and marketing templates for the Sales and Customer Success teams.

Bilingual & Product Education Content

  • Design English and Chinese content for social channels, including WeChat, Xiaohongshu (RedNote), LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Edit short-form videos in English and Chinese for social channels, paid ads, and product feature launches.
  • Make sure Chinese typography, layout, and copy read naturally and follow brand standards, not as direct translations.
  • Turn complex POS features into clear infographics, feature guides, and short visual explainers for busy restaurant operators.
  • Design newsletter, feature launch, and in-product assets with the Product Marketing Manager to drive customer adoption and upsell.

Brand & Design Systems

  • Apply the Chowbus brand guidelines across all channels, and review work from other teams for brand consistency.
  • Build and maintain our design system, templates, and asset library so other teams can create on-brand work faster.
  • Design employer brand and recruiting materials that show Chowbus as a great place to work.
  • Manage design requests from several teams, set clear timelines, and keep stakeholders updated on progress.
What You’ll Need
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in graphic design, ideally at a B2B SaaS company, tech company, or creative agency.
  • A strong portfolio that shows digital ads, social media content, print collateral, and presentation design.
  • Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
  • Motion graphics or video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar).
  • Strong skills in layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and building reusable templates.
  • Required: Professional or fluent proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken. Most of our team and many of our restaurant partners communicate in Mandarin, and you will design content for both English and Chinese audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for Chinese social platforms such as WeChat or Xiaohongshu (RedNote).
  • Experience in restaurant technology, POS, payments, or another B2B SaaS company.
  • Experience with Webflow, Salesforce, or similar web and email tools.
  • Photography or photo art direction skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • 100% employer-paid Short-Term Disability (STD)
  • 100% employer-paid Life Insurance
  • 100% employer-paid AD&D Insurance
  • Company holidays
  • Birthday off
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $95,000 (final offer depends on experience and qualifications). This role may also be eligible for a performance bonus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
