Bags is a Solana Token Launchpad, founded in 2023. In a short time, we’ve become one of the top revenue-generating products in all of crypto. We’re a small team of 5 people building globally distributed, high-performance systems where low latency is everything. Our users span the world, and our infrastructure must perform at scale, reliably, and fast. We’re now hiring a Backend Engineer to help us scale the systems that power Bags. You’ll work with a team that values speed, precision, and ownership—where every engineer has a massive impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and build backend services in TypeScript and Rust.

  • Work with Redis, MongoDB, and ClickHouse to handle high-throughput, low-latency workloads.

  • Build and optimize services that index Solana data using Rust and Carbon.

  • Design APIs and services that are globally performant and reliable.

  • Ensure services are fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable, and secure.

  • Partner with DevOps to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring.

  • Take ownership of features end-to-end, from design to production.

  • Help shape engineering best practices as one of our early hires.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js (bonus: Rust)

  • Solid understanding of Redis, MongoDB, or ClickHouse.

  • Experience building high-performance, low-latency distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with Solana or other blockchain data systems (Rust + Carbon experience is a plus).

  • Strong background in system design and data modeling.

  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and testable code.

  • High agency and work ethic—this is a startup role that requires ownership and hustle.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with blockchain data pipelines (especially Solana).

  • Familiarity with message queues, streaming systems, or event-driven architectures.

  • Understanding of performance tuning for databases and caching.

  • Prior startup experience where speed and scale were critical.

Why Join Us
  • Build systems that power the top revenue-generating product in crypto.

  • Work on globally distributed, low-latency infrastructure where every millisecond matters.

  • Join a small, elite team where you’ll have an outsized impact.

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity.

  • Remote-friendly with flexible work culture.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
