Role Overview:
Salesforce is seeking a transformational Area Vice President, Sales to serve as a key member and business leader to the Sales Leadership Team. This Area Vice President will be responsible for inspirational sales leadership and management of growth within the Consumer & Business Services Business Unit (Mid-Market), through aggressively growing top-line revenues and driving new business through the implementation of scalable, repeatable, structured systems and processes.
Additionally, this leader will serve as a strong Business Leader, Customer Partner, and Talent Multiplier, and will have the personal drive and commitment to both understand and successfully navigate a fast-growing, global company striving towards continued market domination in an evolving marketplace.
Responsibilities:

  • Will help to set and implement Salesforce’s Consumer & Business Services sales strategy. This executive will assume the leadership of a growing sales organization including Regional Vice Presidents (RVP), and Account Executives (AE) to help steer complex deal transactions

  • Set and execute an aggressive customer acquisition strategy to generate growth in revenue and bookings

  • Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s commercial customer base within Consumer & Business Services.

  • Maintain strong reporting and accountability against numbers, driving to exceed quotas, while developing and managing motivating incentive tools

  • Act as a strategic thought leader and advisor to the SVP, Enterprise Sales, Consumer & Business Services

  • Work closely with functions and other executives across the organization to establish and develop a strong and collaborative partnership to ensure continued success

  • Manage the overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management

  • Plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels

Required Qualifications:

  • 1st or 2nd line leadership experience leading teams in strategic sales

  • Consistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals

  • Solid track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high performing sales organizations

  • 12+ years in software and/or applications sales (ideally in a CRM, ERP and/or otherwise relevant software company), selling primarily to the CxO level

  • Proven ability to drive transformational change across a large organization: understands the drivers of how to change a culture, assess performance, continuously refresh a sales organization and build capability

  • Excellent operational and analytical abilities

  • Consistent track record of building satisfied, loyal and referenceable customers

  • Dynamic and strong sales execution mindset with a passion for a fast-paced growing environment

  • Shown success working within a highly matrixed organization and establishing relationships across all functions

  • Experience selling cloud based enterprise applications is strongly preferred

  • Champions diversity of team, thought, and opinion with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse team members

  • Deep industry expertise in the Consumer & Business Services (preferred).

  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on theValues & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $239,400 - $320,200 annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $263,350 - $352,250 per year. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
