About the Role

Arch Systems is seeking an Automation Engineer, based in the APAC region. The Automation Engineer is a hands-on technical individual contributor embedded within the Platform team, with a primary mission of reducing operational overhead across the organization through automation.

This role is automation-first, not infrastructure-ownership-first. While strong DevOps and infrastructure experience is welcome and useful, success in this role is measured by the reduction of manual work, operational friction, and recurring support effort across teams.

A core responsibility of the role is leveraging AI-assisted tooling to accelerate triage, automation, and remediation—while ensuring all outputs are validated, hardened, and safe for production use.

The Automation Engineer is expected to have sufficient operational depth to independently triage common incidents, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to CI/CD and platform workflows.

What You Will Own & Drive

Automation & Workflow Optimization

  • Identify recurring support tickets, operational incidents, and manual workflows across teams.
  • Design and implement durable automations for issues that occur more than once.
  • Partner with all internal teams to investigate workflow bottlenecks and eliminate them through automation.

AI-Assisted Automation

  • Use AI-assisted tools to:
    • Triage incoming tickets or events
    • Generalize recurring issues into repeatable solutions
    • Generate scripts, workflows, or pull requests
  • Review, validate, harden, and productionize AI-generated output before deployment.
  • Ensure AI-assisted automation meets reliability, security, and maintainability standards.
  • Assist other teams, including low-tech teams, in safely adopting AI-assisted automation workflows.

Platform & DevOps Support

  • Participate in incident triage and operational support, including on-call rotations.
  • Apply common fixes and remediation steps; escalate complex issues when required.
  • Contribute hands-on to infrastructure and managed environments as needed.
  • Support deployments across multiple environments with a weekly release cadence.

CI/CD & Developer Enablement

  • Improve CI/CD pipelines (primarily GitHub Actions) to reduce failures, latency, and manual intervention.
  • Automate repetitive build, test, release, and operational tasks.
  • Reduce cognitive and operational overhead for Engineering teams.
What You Bring to the Table
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Automation-focused roles.
  • Strong scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • AWS
    • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
    • CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Experience operating production systems and responding to incidents.
  • Demonstrated ability to replace manual or repetitive work with reliable automation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience automating support or incident response workflows.
  • Practical experience using AI or LLM-based tools in production environments.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Exposure to security or compliance automation (scanning, controls, reporting).
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams.
How We Will Support You
  • Innovate with Impact: Join a team building advanced AI and data products that meaningfully improve manufacturing operations around the world. Your work will contribute directly to efficiency, sustainability, and technical agility for major industrial players.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a passionate, multidisciplinary team that values curiosity, open dialogue, and cross-functional collaboration. We foster an environment of continuous learning and shared success.
  • Growth & Development Opportunities: Develop leadership and technical skills through hands-on experience with product innovation, complex customer programs, and data-driven decision-making. Arch supports your long-term career advancement and deepening of industry expertise.
  • Equity & Ownership: Benefit from equity opportunities that align your contributions with the long-term success and mission of Arch Systems.
  • Remote-First Flexibility: Thrive in a remote-first culture designed to enable flexibility, balance, and productivity across a globally distributed team.
Application Process

Please submit resumes in English. We welcome applicants who may not meet every requirement but are passionate about the role and mission. At Arch, we value authenticity and diverse perspectives, and we encourage candidates to apply even if they have doubts. If this role excites you, we want to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
