Associate, Venue Technology

Venue Technology (VTS) is responsible for the integration and planning of technology services across all Olympic and Paralympic Games venues, as well as the delivery of audio-visual (AV) equipment and services. Additionally, Venue Technology leads the Technology Equipment Allocation Process (TEAP), which ensures demand from other Functional Areas (FA) across the Organizing Committee (OCOG) is planned and managed to align with needs and budget.  

Venue Technology comprises of a Central Team as well as Venue Technology Managers (VTMs) assigned to each Games venue. As a member of the Central team, this role will support the whole of VTS including the VTS leadership team. The role has varied duties, including administrative tasks, travel booking, calendar management, data entry, process execution and monitoring, communications creation (e.g. newsletters), team building exercises, and onboarding assistance for new starters. This work will be across all areas of VTS scope and Games delivery phases. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day administrative operations for Venue Technology team, focusing on maintaining organized documentation, ensuring compliance with administrative procedures. 
  • Provide operational support across VTS functions in internal departmental communications, mobilization, and logistics. 
  • Lead on internal communications for VTS, including newsletter creation, team meeting management, and team building exercises.  
  • Assist with the clerical and data entry tasks required for program reporting, including accurately logging and tracking risk items, issue resolution status, and updating status reports or dashboards using relevant data tools. 
  • Assist the TEAP Manager with data entry and demand planning through TEAP activities at times of peak demand.  
  • Support VTM’s with administrative tasks, logistical elements and document preparation / co-ordination (e.g. the development of Technology layout drawings). 
  • Support the Planning Manager, in liaison with the TEC Office, to coordinate VTS Transfer of Knowledge documentation. 
  • Your role will transition to a “Games Time” role as we approach the critical operational period in the lead up to and during the Games. The exact nature of this role will be communicated to you as staff planning allows.  
  • Due to the dynamic and changing nature of the demands and needs of event delivery, undertake other tasks and activities that may become necessary to fully deliver the Technology scope. 
Background & Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in complex administration, or similar work areas.   
  • Previous experience supporting diverse teams, spanning new joiners to leadership. 
  • Detail oriented; known for staying on task and maintaining structured workflows across multiple concurrent projects. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate procedural information into clear, concise, and actionable language for diverse audiences.  
  • Extensive experience in general administrative tasks is essential, including calendar management, note taking, formal document authoring, and creating engaging whole team communications. 
  • Positive and team-oriented outlook, demonstrable ability to promote team culture and lead inclusive team building and communications initiatives 
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive MS Office suite experience, including MS Outlook diary management, Word and Excel. Proficiency in Smartsheet, is a plus. Experience in sporting event delivery, live event co-ordination or major venue operations is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office. 
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.   
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.   
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.  
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  

The annual base salary range for this position is $30.29 - $35.00 per hour. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
