Summary:
Kraft Heinz Global Treasury is a high performing team with global oversight to company liquidity, capital and liabilities management, and proactive risk mitigations. The Associate Treasury Director, Retirement & Cash Management will lead the design, management and compliance of our retirement programs and enterprise cash management. The Retirement plan oversight includes defined benefit pension plans, defined contribution 401(k) plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans and postretirement medical plans across the Globe.
Reporting directly to VP, Global Treasurer, the Director - Retirement & Cash Management will proactively take measures to assess, recommend and implement initiatives to manage our liabilities and investment portfolio and develop a long-term strategy. In addition, the talent will be responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives to continue to utilize surplus plan assets as a strategic asset to the organization.
In this role, the Associate Treasury Director - Retirement & Cash Management will lead best-in-class strategic initiatives and ensure operational excellence for over $10 billion of company assets. The talent can develop true global view of our liabilities and asset management, take on direct charge of portfolio investment, interact with cross functional teams and senior leadership, as well as lead significant global projects. In addition, the talent will lead relationships with many external partners across the globe.
Core Retirement Plan Responsibilities:

  • Full oversight for over $8 billion of retirement and postretirement medical plans across the Globe
  • Present new investment approaches to the CFO and Treasurer, EBAB and Trustee Boards
  • Assess plan risk strategies, further develop and monitor investment portfolios. Make recommendations on asset manager selection and asset allocation
  • Monitor ongoing asset allocations
  • Manage and monitor the performance and risk exposure of a large portfolio of highly complex investments, investment mix and minimize the risk of significant losses
  • Drive the long-term pension strategy and communicate plan and path
  • Responsible for complex modeling and understanding the financial impact of strategic initiatives, market changes and investment allocation changes. Strong understanding of underlying market drivers that impact assumptions
  • Be subject matter expert from financial and investment perspective for such plans
  • Manage and budget for over $100 million of annual P&L impact. Report on variance drivers and develop projections
  • Manage and budget for cash flow impacts related to retirement and postretirement medical plans across the globe
  • Ensure compliance in accordance with IRS, ERISA, company internal processes and other regulatory requirements across the globe
  • Partner with service providers (e.g., actuaries, consultants, trustees etc) and other functions (e.g., HR, legal, communications) to resolve issues and recommend innovative solutions
  • Lead relationships with 10+ external investment managers across the globe
  • Responsible for content for Pension Committee meetings, primary contact for annual pension plan audits and filing
  • Work with treasury cash management to ensure funding of various plans for benefits payout
  • Apply the knowledge of laws, regulations, governing agencies, procedures, audit, programs and practices to reduce company risk


Strategic Retirement Plan Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying and leading strategic initiatives that require cross-functional collaboration to utilize over $1 billion of surplus plan assets; deep technical understanding across HR, accounting, legal, tax and FP&A is imperative to executing these initiatives
  • Prioritize continued dialogue with external strategic partners and willingness to be active in industry activities to ensure best-in-class idea generation
  • Ability to partner with HR team to identify opportunities to repurpose existing surplus to support ongoing cash requirements
  • Understand company strategic objectives to identify opportunities across both short- and long-term time horizons
  • Lead previously approved cross-functional strategic initiatives to support access to over $300 million of surplus plan assets
  • Understand and monitor the market landscape and insurer trends as it relates to potential risk transfer opportunities
  • Work with international teams outside of the U.S., key role in plan design, de-risking and asset management recommendations


Enterprise Strategic Cash Management Responsibilities:

  • Full oversight for over $500 million to $2 billion of company strategic cash investments
  • Lead the establishment of necessary infrastructure to support investments in a Separately Managed Account; to include governance documents, investment policy statement and investment committee structure
  • Responsible for establishing the cadence and content for recurring investment committee meetings to support monitoring and performance reporting requirements for Company strategic cash investments; committee to include CFO, Global Treasurer, Global Controller, Legal, etc.
  • Establish a recommended recurring cadence and format for high-level reporting to Board of Directors and necessary committees (audit, etc.)
  • Lead effort to identify and monitor external investment manager(s) to support company strategic cash investments
  • Work with treasury operations team to support strategic company cash investments and proper liquidity management


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, or other business-related field preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of work experiences, at least 10 years in direct pension design and benefit administration with a large corporation, accounting firm, law firm, benefits consulting firm
  • Knowledge of ERISA and other pension-related laws and regulations, actuarial valuation, relevant financial reporting and accounting standards
  • Actuarial experience preferred
  • Advanced modeling skills and deep-rooted understanding of market drivers and impacts on pension assumptions
  • Subject matter expert in pension liability for global companies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

New Hire Base Salary Range:
Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
