The Role

As a pivotal member of our Technical Design team, you'll be at the heart of ensuring that our vision for comfort and quality is consistently executed across our Play lines. You will coordinate and lead weekly fit sessions, manage fit samples, and communicate essential fit corrections with overseas factories to maintain our high standards. Your expertise in garment fit, construction, and patternmaking will be crucial as you work closely with our Design team to translate concepts into beautifully crafted products. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, you'll also support the creation and maintenance of our Master Grade Rule and block library, ensuring every piece meets Little Sleepies’ specifications. Join us in our state-of-the-art headquarters in Los Angeles and contribute to our mission of spreading comfort and joy through every stitch and seam.

What you’ll do:

  • This role will be reporting to the Play Technical Design Manager.
  • Coordinate & Lead Weekly fits on form and with live fit models.
  • Receive, measure, and prepare Fit/PP Samples for weekly fits.
  • Communicate pattern/fit corrections to overseas factories/vendors.
  • Partners with Design to understand fit intent and aesthetic to ensure it translates into proto/1st fit sample.
  • Review samples for any potential safety issues/hazards/risks, and address to the internal cross-functional partners and factory.
  • Ensure factory is using best sewing/construction practices, while also meeting Little Sleepies standards. 
  • Support Play Manager in creation/maintenance of Play block library.
  • Participate in special projects in addition to completing daily workload.
  • Support calendar management to hit critical milestones with cross-functional partners for Fit and PP Sample approvals. 
  • Hybrid Schedule - In-office 3 days a week.

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • College degree in a related field (Product Development, Design, or Technical Design)
  • 3+ years experience in Technical Design. Experience in childrenswear is preferred.
  • Experience working with overseas factories/vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google Applications.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Proficient in PLM/PDM systems.
  • Knowledge of garment fit, construction, patternmaking, and grading.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills with internal and external partners.
  • A team player attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
