About Us

Narmi is how community financial institutions unlock the very latest capabilities in digital banking, account opening, and lending so they can move faster, tap new growth opportunities, and be where banking is going. Since our founding, Narmi has enabled the movement of billions of dollars and the opening of hundreds of thousands of accounts for banks and credit unions across the U.S. The results speak for themselves: our customers have grown deposits, revenue, and customer satisfaction, with one of the first institutions powered by Narmi recognized by Bankrate and NerdWallet for delivering the #1 digital banking experience in the country.
The Role
We are looking for an Associate Sales Engineer to join Narmi's Growth team. You'll partner with financial institutions to understand their needs, demonstrate how Narmi solves their problems, and work cross-functionally to drive deals forward. You'll be the technical bridge between prospects and our product, engineering, and success teams.

What You'll Do
  • Engage with prospects to assess their technical capabilities, needs, and integration requirements
  • Build and deliver compelling, tailored product demos and technical presentations
  • Draft thorough responses to RFPs and technical questionnaires
  • Stay current on competitor and partner solutions in the market
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, implementation, and customer success teams to develop solutions that drive revenue growth

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years in customer-facing technical roles (sales engineering, consulting, professional services) at B2B SaaS companies
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in or with financial institutions
  • Track record of owning projects and working autonomously
  • Mastery of modern web technologies
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and Python
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time

Nice to Have
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Prior FinTech or banking technology experience
  • Familiarity with digital banking platforms
  • Experience with AWS, Node.js, React/React Native, Kubernetes, or Python

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000 per year. Base salary is only part of your total compensation. You will also receive sales commission for won sales opportunities. In addition to base salary and commission, you will receive an equity option grant, and are eligible for performance-based cash and equity bonuses. Compensation included in an offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation ranges for candidates located outside of New York City may differ. You will also receive a full benefits package.

At Narmi, how we work is just as important as what we build. We call this The Narmi Standard:
  • High Ceiling: You go beyond the obvious, take initiative, and hold yourself to high standards with care.
  • Low Ego: You put the mission above ourselves, share credit freely, and lead with curiosity.
  • Alignment to Mission: You believe that helping community financial institutions win against Mega Banks and FinTechs is a worthy endeavor, and will use that belief as a northstar to anchor your efforts to that goal.
  • High Commitment: You follow through, roll up your sleeves, and keep the bar high for yourself and others.

We believe that high-performing teams include people from different backgrounds and experiences who can challenge each other's assumptions with fresh perspectives. To that end, we actively seek a diverse pool of applicants, including those from historically marginalized groups.

Please note that all correspondence related to this role will come directly from Narmi (email addresses ending in @narmi.com or @narmitech.com), and not from a third party. If you receive correspondence from an individual claiming to represent Narmi please let us know immediately at [email protected]

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
