Job Description:
The Associate Program Manager is responsible for program planning, implementing, execution and supervising the on-site experience and staff members. The role involves direct communication with internal staff, management of seasonal staff, a close attention to detail and an ability to make and support business decisions confidently. The Associate Program Manager is responsible for streamlining communication between program teams, staff, vendors, and clients. The position will report to a Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of program curriculum, training, and student materials in accordance with program objectives while maintaining focus on the student experience.
- Plan and execute assigned programs
- Serve as a liaison for vendors, residential, and meeting facility services; develop and review BEOs, rooming assignments, and student rosters.
- Maintain curriculum supply inventory and storage; manage ordering process and maintenance of equipment.
- Analyze program performance using student and parent assessment data.
- Conduct seasonal instructional and support staff interviews; participate in hiring decision and placement discussions.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned team of seasonal instructional and support staff, including conducting performance evaluations.
- Prepare status updates or reports for manager as appropriate.
- Provide support on other projects and tasks as requested by department management.
- Demonstrate sound decision-making and problem-solving skills for field-based situations (staff management, student issues, weather/event alterations, customer escalations, etc.)
- Conduct staff meetings for the seasonal instructional and support staff during the program.
- Represent the organization in a professional manner to various audiences (participants, parents, vendors, speakers, supporting organizations, etc.).
- Evaluate the quality of performance of assigned seasonal staff members; provide feedback and coaching to team members
- Monitor student experiences throughout programs including assisting students with questions, concerns, and coordinating accommodations.
- Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods from June thru August.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented with ability to prioritize and work on various projects simultaneously
- Extensive seasonal travel, primarily June - August, and work extended days and hours as directed by program needs
- 1 -2 years of professional Event Management/Event Planning experience
- 2- 3 years of supervisory experience
- COVID vaccination may be required depending on the program venue
