Job Summary

The Live & Sports DTC Marketing team is seeking an Associate Manager to support the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns for sports across Disney+ and Hulu, including Hulu + Live TV. This role will help drive brand, engagement, retention, and acquisition goals through campaigns spanning live sports, tentpole events, tune-in, partner activations, and retention programs.

The Associate Manager will focus on turning sports moments into subscriber demand across DTC products while positioning sports clearly within Disney’s broader family of brands and products. This role will serve as a day-to-day contact for network and league partners and requires strong execution, project management, communication, and relationship-management skills. Knowledge of and passion for sports is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of Disney+, Hulu, and Hulu + Live TV marketing campaigns across sports, live events, and entertainment.

  • Run task force meetings, ensure the right content is featured, secure content and legal approvals, and keep projects on budget.

  • Serve as a key day-to-day contact for network and league partners, coordinating campaigns, requests, and approvals to keep partners aligned and supported.

  • Support acquisition and retention efforts around key sports windows by partnering with lifecycle/CRM and subscriber acquisition teams to help turn sports moments into subscriber demand.

  • Gather and synthesize consumer insights, audience data, and performance metrics to inform briefs, messaging, campaign decisions, tracking, and optimization.

  • Assist in building briefs and decks that guide and inspire campaigns, partnerships, and ideas.

  • Partner with campaign leads and cross-functional teams throughout projects to maintain consistency of brand vision across on- and off-channel efforts.

  • Research cultural and sports trends that can be owned or amplified by the brand.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in brand or campaign marketing with a leading consumer-facing brand or agency; media, TV, or sports company experience is a plus.

  • Experience and knowledge of the sports landscape; live sports DTC experience is ideal.

  • Experience contributing to 360 marketing campaigns from strategy through creative execution and launch.

  • Familiarity with subscription/DTC growth levers, including acquisition, conversion, lifecycle, and retention, is a plus.

  • Exposure to product and marketing positioning strategy.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and switch between creative and analytical work without losing sight of the details.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and partner-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels of the organization.

  • Candidate must live within a reasonable distance of the office in Burbank, California. This role requires someone onsite 4 days a week.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $9,400 to $106,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
