What will you be doing?

As an Associate Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud, you’ll begin your cloud career at the center of
WWT’s multi-cloud journey, in a role that blends two of the things we value most: strong
partnership and hands-on engineering.

Your first focus is partnership. Working alongside senior and mid-level engineers, you’ll build
relationships across the organization with our IAM, Network, Information Security, Platform and
End User Services, and Observability teams, and help application and business units onboard
to the cloud, adopt approved standards, and gain clear visibility into their cloud cost and usage.

Your second focus is building. You’ll help extend WWT’s core infrastructure services (compute,
virtual machines, storage, virtualization, operating systems, and Kubernetes) into the cloud,
supporting the design, automation, and operation of these services across Microsoft Azure,
Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. With guidance from senior engineers,
you’ll learn to take part in an on-call rotation and contribute to the reliability, security, and cost-
efficiency of our environments.

Above all, this is a learning and growth opportunity, ideal for a passionate, collaborative early-
career engineer with strong communication skills who is eager to build their cloud and
infrastructure expertise while helping teams across the business succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help application and business teams onboard to the cloud, assisting them with
provisioning, approved standards, and self-service patterns under guidance.
  • Help maintain the cloud platform internal teams rely on, including standardized landing
    zones, tagging, and configuration baselines.
  • Build relationships across teams such as Network, IAM, Information Security, and
Observability, along with other engineering and business-unit teams, and help coordinate
the right controls, services, and support for each workload.
  • Help give teams visibility into their cloud cost and usage patterns, maintaining dashboards
and reports and flagging optimization and right-sizing opportunities to senior engineers.
  • Assist with building and operating core cloud infrastructure (compute, virtual machines,
storage, virtualization, and Linux/Windows operating systems) across Azure, GCP, and
  • Make guided contributions to Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform,
Ansible/AWX, PowerShell, Python, Git, and CI/CD), running existing pipelines and
    committing changes under code review.
  • Work with the IAM and Information Security teams to help apply identity, access, and
security controls, and with the Observability team to help configure monitoring, logging, and
  • Support reliability through routine preventative maintenance, patching, and monitoring;
assist with change tickets, validation, and tested rollback; and take part in an on-call
    rotation as you build readiness.

clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
