Space Systems Integration and Test group is seeking an Associate Engineer Electrical OR Engineer Electrical (Integration and Test) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Redondo Beach, California.
You will have the opportunity to design, develop, and execute test procedures and automated test scripts using spacecraft commands, telemetry, and electrical ground support equipment. The ideal candidate has system level test experience working with spacecraft flight hardware and good computer skills. Daily responsibilities will require I&T test preparation leading to direct contact with satellite and space flight hardware. Candidate must be able to tackle issues utilizing skills obtained in the field of electrical engineering, or a related discipline, preferably as it relates to system level integration and test. Required skills include the ability to communicate clearly and to use critical thinking in troubleshooting of problems. The ability to use a scripting language and formulate automated test scripts is highly desirable. International/domestic travel to support launch campaigns may be required. Shift and weekend work to support testing will be required periodically.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
General use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
Develop I&T test procedures, specifications, and test limits
Execute I&T testing, monitor tests per specification, troubleshoot, and document all test activities
Understand NG test engineering practices and principles
Understand both electrical circuits and software within the flight hardware and EGSE
Support EGSE and flight hardware test/troubleshooting efforts with oversight from more senior Electrical Engineers
Escalate test errors per NG/program process and understand when to pause testing and/or proceed
Travel and support different shifts when required
Ability to establish and maintain infrequent inter-organizational contacts on routine matters.
Coordinates with ITEE team lead, electrical test conductors/technicians, and I&T managers to complete tasking. May participate or prepare material in program review boards (ERBs, TRRs, FRBs, etc.).

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications for Level 1:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Ability to learn and integrate new programming languages or web-based/software tools and applications
Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Ability to learn and integrate new programming languages or web-based/software tools and applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with hardware or software testing and test scripting
Experience with proliferated systems testing or production line testing/planning
Directly related experience in Integration and test
Experience in Electronics troubleshooting
Experience in Environmental testing (Thermal Cycle/Thermal Vacuum chamber testing, EMI testing)
Programming or debugging experience with any of the following languages: STOL, JAS, Python
Experience with any of the following tools: Manufacturo, Odoo, InControl, Jira/Confluence, Git/Bitbucket
Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)
Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance
