The Diabetes Sales Team leads the US sales efforts for Novo Nordisk's robust cardiometabolic product portfolio, which includes world class therapies for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and the reduction of adverse cardiovascular events. The Position
The position is responsible for managing and driving execution of NNI business and Marketing brand strategies, as well as organizational priorities and company initiatives within the Commercial Field Area. Will work with brand teams and have point/lead responsibility for therapeutic Franchises enabling execution of Franchise strategies to drive sales performance in a given field Area. Responsible for Area efficiency and alignment with the brand strategies and National plans. Enables the coordination and management of the business planning process and output, analyzes data and identifies key themes and trends that cut across regions. Enables execution to capitalize on opportunities that drive field sales performance in a given Area.
Relationships
The position reports to the Director, Commercial Execution. Partners heavily with VP Area Commercial Lead, Region Business Directors, MAPA, and respective peers within the Execution and Operations on identifying synergies within markets. This person will work closely with all levels of the business in regard to business planning, understanding analytics, translating marketing strategy into local field action and ensuring the execution of marketing and company strategy. High level of interaction with home office functions responsible for processes, tools and systems that enable the field.

Essential Functions
- Field Execution
- Has point/lead responsibility of therapeutic franchise and works with brand teams to understand brand priorities, translate marketing strategies into field action and drive execution in local markets to accelerate filed sales performance in a given Area
- Ensures activities are coordinated and local strategic approaches are aligned to Area commercial plan
- Partners and aligns on area approaches to maximize potential of Area, Region, District and Territory activities and opportunities to accelerate field sales performance in a given Area
- Ensures the sales force is effectively executing the strategic and tactical elements of the marketing plan
- Conduct field travel including field rides with representatives, attending peer-to-peer interface programs, customer dinners and sales meetings
- Analyzes Area budgets and make recommendations on changes in line with plan objectives
- Ensure Area initiatives align to National plans
- Coordinates and manages regional implementation of key marketing tactics (i.e. Interface); ensuring targeting is optimal
- Enables sample optimization/allocation and tracking through rebalancing allocations within the regions as needed
- Uncovers local market opportunities and works with brands and internal stakeholders to coordinate appropriate execution to accelerate field sales performance in a given Area
- Partners with the brand team to share key insights around execution strategies from respective area
- Assist in coordination with Learning and Development to best support area development needs
- Communication
- Ensures cascade of area information throughout the respective regions
- Provides two-way communication between field and home office functions
- Serves as the liaison for communications between field and Marketing teams
- Field Intelligence
- Applies a field lens and draws insights from reports generated by Commercial Effectiveness and/or field intelligence for trends and accuracy
- Filters information from the field to respective Director to ensure field intelligence is applied to plans, resources, tools and technology
- Local Market Execution
- Provides local market pull through of programs, processes and tools, and coaching to local leadership
- Coordinates the implementation and execution of local market plans
- Ensures optimal resource utilization and ROI for key strategies aligned with the Customer Focused Model
- Identifies local market needs throughout the area and partners with the Sales Execution team to filter and address

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
- Requires 10 years of sales or commercial operational experience in pharmaceuticals and/or related healthcare
- Successful track record of managing teams preferred
- Channel experience preferred
- Portfolio selling approaches preferred
- Ability to operationalize marketing tools and resources to drive business results
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail

- Strong level of analytics and insight generation required
