ABOUT THIS ROLE
Fulwell Entertainment is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Associate to join our Business & Legal Affairs team. In this role, you will work closely with studio executives, brand partnership teams, and Business & Legal Affairs colleagues across the U.S. and U.K. to support the legal and business dimensions of content production and brand integrations.
This position will be based in Los Angeles.  You will provide holistic support to the global Business & Legal Affairs function, helping ensure alignment and consistency across regions. The ideal candidate is a true team player who brings strong organizational instincts, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for collaborating across departments at the intersection of law and entertainment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production & Development Agreements. Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of production-related legal documents, including attachment, shopping, development, and production services/executive producer agreements, as well as talent agreements, NDAs, location agreements, appearance releases, materials releases, licensing deals, vendor agreements, rental agreements, etc.
  • Brand Partnerships & Integrations. Support brand partnership transactions by preparing deal memos, tracking contract terms, and ensuring legal compliance for integrations across both original and studio-produced content.
  • Production Support. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all legal and contractual requirements are satisfied throughout pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution.
  • Content Clearance. Assist in reviewing and clearing content, including footage, music, images, and scripts, to ensure compliance with any and all applicable laws, rules, regulations, etc. (e.g., intellectual property, trademark, and advertising regulations).
  • Contract Management. Organize and maintain a centralized contract database, tracking material deal terms (e.g.,  terms, rights, deliverables, fees, credit, options, etc.) and manage document organization, record-keeping, and signature workflows across productions and brand-funded projects.
  • External Counsel Coordination. Coordinate with outside counsel as needed, escalating complex legal matters while ensuring alignment with production timelines.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school required.
  • Admission to the California or New York State Bar preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant legal experience within media, entertainment, or production environments.
  • Strong familiarity with production-related legal documents, including talent agreements, appearance and material releases, and vendor contracts; knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, DGA, or other guild agreements is a plus.
  • Experience supporting brand partnerships, influencer agreements, licensing transactions, or IP clearances is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to convey legal concepts clearly to creative and production teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and contract management or e-signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
