The Associate Brand Manager leads product innovation and marketing strategies while analyzing consumer trends and monitoring market performance to achieve sales goals.
Position Summary:
As leader of one of Munchkin’s core categories, this position is responsible for identifying consumer and retailer trends and insights and then translating those insights into new product concepts and marketing plans to support annual and long-term sales, market share, and profit goals. The position works closely with all departments within the organization and works on several projects simultaneously.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Be the expert - know your categories, products, competitors, distribution and retail sets
- Lead new product launches from conception through execution (pricing, positioning, packaging, etc.), working collaboratively cross-functionally with Product Development, Costing, Operations and Sales, Social Media and Ecommerce team
- Lead cross-functional teams to launch product innovation and renovations with speed and agility.
- Conduct category-specific analyses (e.g., Feeding, Bath, Nursery, etc.) and recommend new products and features to fill portfolio opportunities
- Closely monitor and analyze sales volumes, market share trends and competitive activity
- Monitor category performance across eCommerce and Brick and Mortar retailers, identifying ways to grow share, improve set performance, drive reviews or fill gaps
- Manage complex projects, leading cross functional teams on projects such as new product development, marketing plans, focus groups and more
- Assist with preparation of annual operating plans and marketing budget.
- Assist in marketing projects to end consumers, potentially including ad development, media planning, digital marketing, loyalty initiatives, social media programs, etc.
- Analyze the business utilizing quantitative/qualitative data, demonstrating strong command of key growth and share drivers
- Present market analysis and actionable recommendations to grow sales and profitability
- Other duties as may be assigned
Job Skills and Requirements:
- 2-4 years brand managment marketing experience (consumer packaged goods industry is a plus)
- BS/BA degree, MBA preferred
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
- Strong communication / writing skills
- Proven history of being both creative and analytical in prior roles
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and be resourceful, creative, detail oriented
