The AI Operations Administrator is a member of the IT Engineering & Operations function, responsible for the administration, configuration, and day-to-day operation of SitusAMC’s enterprise AI tools and the API management layer that connects and governs them. The role centers on Gravitee, the API management and gateway platform through which AI services, integrations, and agent traffic are published, secured, and monitored, and on the enterprise AI tools in use across the business: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and Microsoft Copilot. Hands-on Gravitee experience is essential to this role. The Administrator keeps these platforms secure, available, and well-documented, provides operational support to users, and supplies the logs, usage data, and configuration records needed to support audit and governance reporting.
As a regulated service provider to major financial institutions, SitusAMC is subject to client, regulatory, and contractual obligations governing AI use. This role implements and operates platform configuration to the requirements defined by Information Security and AI GRC. Governance, policy, risk acceptance, control requirements, and independent control assurance remain with those teams, and design and build of enterprise security infrastructure remains with Information Security Architecture and Engineering. The Administrator does not set or self-attest the control baseline. The position works under the direction of senior engineering and architecture staff and provides a foundation for growth into the AI Operations Engineer role.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Administer and operate the Gravitee API management platform as the primary responsibility of the role, including environments, organizations, gateways, management console, developer portal, users, groups, and role-based access.
  • Configure and maintain APIs, plans, applications, and subscriptions in Gravitee for AI services, LLM provider endpoints, and AI-related integrations, applying the authentication, authorization, rate-limiting, quota, and traffic-control policies defined by AI GRC and Information Security.
  • Manage the API lifecycle in Gravitee, including publishing, versioning, promotion across environments, and deprecation, following change control and maintaining configuration in version control (e.g., through Gravitee management APIs, the Kubernetes operator, or exported definitions).
  • Operate and maintain Gravitee gateways and supporting components, including monitoring, patching and version upgrades, certificate and secret rotation, capacity, and high availability, in partnership with Infrastructure and Information Security Engineering.
  • Onboard approved AI use cases, connectors, MCP servers, and agent endpoints onto Gravitee using standard policy templates, and verify that traffic is authenticated, logged, and routed only through approved paths.
  • Monitor Gravitee analytics, logs, and alerts; troubleshoot API and gateway issues; and produce usage, error, latency, and cost reporting for AI-related APIs, including forwarding logs to SIEM and GRC evidence sources.
  • Integrate Gravitee with enterprise identity providers and secrets management, including SSO for console and portal access and OAuth2, JWT, API key, and mTLS configurations for API consumers.
  • Administer the enterprise AI tools in scope (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and Microsoft Copilot), including tenant and workspace settings, roles and permissions, data and retention settings, connector and integration scoping, and usage and spend controls.
  • Manage the access lifecycle for AI tools, including SSO and SCIM provisioning, license assignment and reclamation, and onboarding and offboarding, in partnership with Identity and Access Management.
  • Apply the configuration baselines defined by AI GRC to each AI tool and to Gravitee, document the configuration state, and remediate configuration drift identified through GRC validation within agreed timelines.
  • Support the technical controls for Shadow AI discovery and prevention in partnership with Information Security Engineering, and help business users move to approved, supported AI tools.
  • Provide Tier 2 operational support for AI tools and Gravitee through the ITSM platform, including incident, request, and change handling, and escalate to vendors and senior engineers as needed.
  • Track vendor releases, feature changes, model version changes, and deprecations for the platforms in scope, assess operational impact, and coordinate communication and testing.
  • Produce and maintain the logs, usage data, and configuration records needed for continuous control monitoring, and support AI-related client audits, due diligence questionnaires, and internal audits with accurate implementation detail and evidence.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, configuration standards, knowledge articles, and user guidance for Gravitee and the approved AI tools, written to a standard that stands up to audit review.
  • Track and report operational metrics, including platform availability, API traffic and error rates, adoption, license utilization, ticket volumes, and cost, to IT leadership.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting and platform APIs (e.g., Python, PowerShell), and recommend improvements to platform operations.
  • Partner with the AI GRC Engineer, Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Legal, Privacy, and business teams to implement requirements and escalate where requirements are not technically feasible or carry material operational impact.
  • Other activities as may be assigned by your manager.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experienced professional with 5+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically at a Senior Analyst or Analyst level role or external equivalent.
  • Gravitee experience is a must-have for this role: hands-on, production experience administering Gravitee, including API management, gateway configuration, policies, plans, subscriptions, applications, and environment management.
  • Experience in IT operations, systems administration, platform administration, or API management preferred.
  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise AI tools such as ChatGPT (Enterprise or Business), Claude (Team or Enterprise), Cursor, and Microsoft Copilot, including admin console configuration, SSO/SCIM integration, role-based access, and license management. Experience with several of these tools is expected; experience with all four is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of API concepts and security, including REST, HTTP troubleshooting, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, API keys, mTLS, rate limiting, and gateway patterns.
  • Experience with SSO, SCIM provisioning, and role-based access using an enterprise identity provider (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID or Okta).
  • Scripting and automation ability (Python, PowerShell, or equivalent), with working knowledge of Git, YAML, and JSON. Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes, as used in Gravitee deployments, is expected. Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of LLM concepts, including prompts, tokens, model versions, tool and function calling, and MCP, sufficient to configure, secure, and troubleshoot AI integrations.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow preferred) and ITIL-aligned incident, request, and change management practices.
  • Experience supporting audits, due diligence, or compliance evidence requests in a regulated environment is preferred; financial services or service provider to financial institutions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST CSF, and the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications: Gravitee training or certification where available, Microsoft Azure or AI fundamentals certifications, ITIL 4, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Security+, or equivalent.
  • Ability to translate governance and control requirements into accurate platform configuration, and to explain technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written communication, with the ability to author clear runbooks and change documentation that stands up to audit review.
  • Commitment to separation of duties: implements and operates controls and supports independent verification of them rather than self-attesting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to change control, particularly for production gateway and API policy changes.
  • Ability to work with engineering, security, identity, legal, and business stakeholders and to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfort learning quickly in a rapidly evolving area and contributing to documentation and process improvement.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
