Associate Account Services Coordinator - California
** This is a hybrid role, so candidates should live within a commutable distance of our Oakland, Rancho Cordova, or Cerritos, California offices and be able to work on-site as needed. **
The Associate Account Services Coordinator is responsible for providing daily service and support to both internal and external customers, with a focus on ensuring timely and accurate processing of benefit summary updates. The role plays a key part in supporting account data accuracy within the organization’s systems and contributes to overall customer and Delta Dental success. Working in close partnership with Associate Account Services Coordinators, this position delivers high-level administrative support to Account Managers, helping to strengthen the operational foundation of our organization.
- Maintain a strong understanding of system configurations, benefit structures, products, and plan designs to accurately process benefit highlight summaries and related client requests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data for presentations, reports, or responses to client inquiries.
- Research and resolve issues using internal systems and workflows; communicate resolutions to appropriate parties.
- Interpret and summarize information from internal departments in a clear and concise manner for external communication.
- Provide support for special projects and perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed.
- Serve as a back-up for the Open Enrollment scheduling team.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.
- Ability to work a schedule of 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. pacific Monday through Friday.
- Ability to report to the local office up to 2 times per month and as needed for meaningful events such as town halls, volunteering, team building, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 or more years’ experience with a focus on sales administrative/client support preferred. Experience in direct and indirect client support.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and perform basic computer functions.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of Delta Dental and competitor products, service guarantees, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), and contractual language is preferred.
- Familiarity with Current Dental Terminology (CDT) codes and dental nomenclature is a plus!
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines with strong follow-through.
- Attention to detail, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, composition, and proofreading.
- Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality and professionalism.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 13. $33,900 - $68,500
