Financial Services firm in beautiful Santa Barbara is looking for a top-tier talented Assistant Controller. 

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the monthly close process, which includes closing sub-ledgers; reviewing and recording journal entries; allocations; consolidation; and account analysis, reconciliation and extensive fluctuation analysis

Develop and coordinate Financial reports, budgets and analysis with VP Controller and CFO

Provide information as needed to other members of the finance team. Complete more complex research and inquiries of GL transactions and activities to be able to provide appropriate solutions.

Coordinate audit and tax requests, compile and prepare supporting schedules, work paper and financial reports as needed.

Manage and mentor Accounting staff with expectation to increase team size

Pro-actively seek out process improvements; continuously make recommendations for improvement and implement agreed upon changes.

Assist with accounting integration activities, which includes implementing a variety of finance and accounting related software solutions.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field is required.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
