THE OPPORTUNITY:

HUB’s Customer Service professionals provide critical support to our customers through account management, claims management, day-to-day client oversight, and underwriting services that make us a leading sales and service organization in the insurance industry. Through a robust network of resources, you will be amongst some of the industry’s top talent to help guide and support our customer’s needs and provide them with innovative solutions.

SUMMARY:

The Commercial Lines Assistant is responsible for providing all aspects of service support to commercial lines insurance customers.  The commercial lines assistant works under the direction of two to four account managers.  The account manager will delegate work assignments to the commercial lines assistant.  If needed, account servicing, additional training and problem-solving assistance will be provided by the account manager or department manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process policies: e-file/attach agent copy and process original copy for delivery to the insured – AM will proof policy
  • Issue Evidence and Certificates of Insurance
  • Process direct bill endorsements
  • Check on policy cancellation status with carriers/premium finance companies and report back to account manager
  • Order MVRs and update driver lists
  • Order loss runs
  • Order policy changes and update agency management system – when delegated to do so from account manager
  • Issue auto ID cards
  • Assist with back up receptionist duties including covering front desk phones, processing mail, scanning mail, routing faxes, as well as end of day kitchen duties
  • Miscellaneous duties to include:

    Printing, e-filing/attaching of on-line reports, policies, endorsements, and cancellation warnings.

    Various department housekeeping and all other work assignments delegated by the account manager or department manager

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must consistently demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Knowledge of the computer and associated programs: Epic agency management system, scanning software, various carriers’ on-line systems, Microsoft products
  • Understand and follow established DMIG/HUB procedures
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and fractions
  • Ability to analyze work assignments and know when to ask for assistance in order to complete the assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to respond promptly to customers’ needs, solicit customer feedback to improve service
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, be an active listener, focus on solving conflict, maintain confidentiality
  • Prepare memos and professional form letters, write clearly, edit work for spelling and grammar, ability to read and interpret written information
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities, support team objectives, exhibit openness to the views of others, give and welcome feedback, when necessary, assist team on large projects to meet group work commitments
  • Perform all job requirements, consistently produce quality work, complete tasks accurately and on time, prioritize and plan work assignments, use time efficiently to meet productivity standards and commitments, take responsibility for own actions, be responsive to coaching from account manager and department manager
  • Strive to continuously pursue training and development opportunities to build knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to building a positive working environment, treat others with respect regardless of their position

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma: College degree is a plus
  • CA Property & Casualty Insurance License (or willing/able to obtain license within six months)
  • 1 or more years of related experience

The expected salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000k depending on geographical location and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
