Job Description

Arity is a part of the Allstate Corporation, which means we have the same innovative drive that keeps us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs. We collect and analyze enormous amounts of data in order to provide cutting-edge solutions to companies invested in transportation.
The Team
The Arity Sales team plants the seeds of our company’s success. We’re looking for candidates who bring a unique concoction of consulting, business development, technology, and—of course—sales experience to help our business take off. Team members are passionate about their job and excited about the opportunity to drive change not just for customers, but for an entire industry. Our ideal candidate has deep knowledge of transportation across multiple industries and thinks outside the box to help our partners solve their toughest transportation problems. Sound like you? The Role
The Sales Engineering Senior Manager is an expert-level individual contributor who helps prospective customers evaluate, integrate, and realize business value from Arity’s mobile experiences and performance marketing solutions. The role requires a business-savvy technical leader with hands-on experience in mobile application development and API-based data integration. This individual leads customer discovery, translates business objectives into solution architecture, and demonstrates how Arity products can create measurable value through our mobile SDK, API, and data-driven platform integrations. Acting as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, the Expert Sales Engineer influences product direction, technical strategy, and go-to-market execution through technical expertise, customer insight, and quantified value assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Arity’s mobile SDK product and UI kits, integration of processes like real time bidding (RTB) models, consumer data pre-fill, and integration into Arity’s and other performance marketing platforms; evaluate customer business goals, operating processes, technical architecture and integration needs to qualify product fit.
  • Be an inquisitive listener eager to challenge organizations to think differently and adopt new ideas.
  • Lead complex technical discovery engagements to understand customer objectives, business processes, technology ecosystems, implementation requirements, and success measures.
  • Design solution architectures that use Arity products, APIs and data assets to address customer business challenges, and clearly communicate technical trade-offs, dependencies and recommended approaches.
  • Assess gaps and opportunities in product features, API capabilities and integration patterns based on market demand; partner with product and engineering to prioritize the work with the greatest customer and business value.
  • Assess gaps and opportunities in product marketing, including business-value messaging, technical enablement and API integration guidance, and help prioritize the work needed to support market adoption.
  • Partner with business development representatives on strategic opportunities, leading technical discovery, solution design, feasibility assessment and value articulation from qualification through customer decision.
  • Act as a technical thought leader through customer workshops, industry conferences, webinars and market-facing presentations based on the individual’s industry expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Author request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) responses for prospective customers; assist with proposals and statements of work (SOWs), including solution architecture, API integration scope, assumptions, dependencies and value expectations.
  • Design, manage and execute evaluations and pilot projects for potential customers, including API-based prototypes, mobile or web application experiences, and REST API data integrations that retrieve or post data between systems.
  • Develop solution-level business cases by establishing a baseline, identifying measurable benefits and costs, defining assumptions, and estimating value such as revenue growth, cost reduction, risk reduction, productivity improvement or customer experience impact.
  • Partner with customer technology and business teams to map current-state and future-state processes, identify where API-enabled data or capabilities improve the workflow, and define success measures for implementation and adoption.
  • Build long-term business relationships and become a trusted advisor by connecting technology decisions to customer business processes, operating metrics and strategic objectives.
  • Create presentation assets, API-enabled prototypes and interactive product demonstrations; clearly explain both the technical approach and the expected business impact to technical and non-technical audiences; participate in conferences and events, including speaking and technical demonstrations, to generate leads.
  • Understand customer needs and business processes to advise product development teams on roadmap capabilities that are not currently available; provide leadership visibility into future-state requirements, integration needs, implementation effort, adoption considerations and potential value based on customer interaction and competitive research.
  • Experience or knowledge working with development teams building mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.
  • Familiarity with Swift, Kotlin, Xcode, Android Studio, and modern mobile development frameworks.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, SDKs, cloud services, and backend data platforms.
  • Understanding mobile application deployment, observability, security, and performance best practices.
  • Strategic sales and consultative discovery skills to evaluate customer requirements, business processes, technical constraints and value drivers to determine Arity product fit.
  • Strong technical fluency in API consumption and integration, including the ability to interpret API documentation, understand request and response structures, work with REST endpoints, and explain GET, POST and related patterns. Experience with API testing tools, mobile or web development, SQL, Python or Scala is valuable.
  • Ability to lead through expertise and influence, navigate organizational dynamics, and align business, product and engineering stakeholders around a practical solution and measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to design, estimate, manage and execute large projects and engagements, both internally and externally, including integration scope, implementation effort, dependencies, risks and expected business value.
  • Expert ability to map current-state and future-state business processes, establish measurable baselines, develop ROI and value models, and quantify expected outcomes such as revenue growth, cost reduction, productivity improvement, risk reduction or customer experience impact.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate between executive business needs and detailed technical requirements.
  • Ability to build long-term business relationships with customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree (Minimum)
  • 8 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • Functional experience in insurance technology, mobility, advertising technology, or another data-intensive industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience applying technology to business processes, identifying measurable outcomes, and building business cases is a critical component of this role.
  • Experience with API-based data consumption and integration is required, including REST APIs, HTTP methods, authentication, JSON payloads, error handling, API testing, and system-to-system data exchange. Experience with mobile or web application development that consumes APIs to power a user interface is highly valuable. Experience with big data analytics and leading cloud platforms is strongly preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
