LOOKING TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR CAREER?

Launch a paid, hands-on career building the future— no prior experience required. Our apprenticeship programs pair on-the-job training (OJT) with Related Technical Instruction (RTI) so you earn competitive wages from day one while building real skills. You will receive no-cost training materials and coursework (no student debt) and work toward nationally recognized certifications from the U.S. Department of Labor and Northwest Lineman College. The skills you gain transfer across wind, solar, and battery storage projects nationwide.

APPRENTICESHIPS OFFERED

We are hiring apprentices across four occupations. Each is a structured, safety-driven program built to move you from entry level to skilled tradesperson:

  • Construction Craft Laborer (CCL) — Our most versatile craft. Supports civil, structural, and mechanical work across the full project lifecycle — excavation, compaction, fencing, rebar and bolt assembly, concrete prep, and mechanical support — and may operate light equipment such as skid steers, loaders, telehandlers, and forklifts. Great for people who like variety and hands-on work.
  • Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) — Trains on dozers, motor graders, and excavators (and may run loaders, telehandlers, and skid steers) for excavation, backfill, grading, and finish work. 6,000+ hours of structured OJT across equipment types. Ideal for those who take pride in operating machinery safely and precisely.
  • Cable Installer (CI) — A highly technical trade installing, splicing, terminating, and testing medium- and high-voltage cable systems. Training covers conductor handling, splicing and termination, underground line design, testing, and commissioning across 6,000 hours of OJT. A fit for detail-oriented candidates with a strong safety mindset.
  • Wind Turbine Installer (WTI) — Assembles turbine towers, nacelles, hubs, and blades through rigging, signaling, torque and tensioning, and mechanical completion. 6,000+ hours of OJT. Climbing at height is a core, recurring part of the role. A fit for those comfortable working at heights on a coordinated team.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
