Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a motivated and career-focused Structures Aeroskills Apprentice to join our Maintenance Team at RAAF Base Amberley.
This is a unique opportunity for individuals who have already completed the theory component of a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) and are looking to gain the practical workplace experience required to complete their qualification while working on the Australian Defence Force's fleet of F/A-18F Super Hornet, C-17 Globemaster and E-7 Wedgetail aircraft.
Working alongside experienced aviation maintenance professionals, you will develop the technical skills, discipline and experience required to build a long-term career in military aviation maintenance.
About the Role
As an Aeroskills Apprentice, you will undertake structured workplace training and practical experience across a range of aircraft maintenance environments while completing the practical requirements of your apprenticeship.
You will be exposed to:
  • Scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance
  • Aircraft inspections and servicing
  • Component removal, installation and testing
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification
  • Technical documentation and maintenance recording
  • Airworthiness, safety and quality management systems
  • Defence aviation maintenance practices
  • Team-based maintenance operations supporting aircraft availability and mission readiness.

This role provides exposure to some of the most advanced aerospace technologies operating in Australia today.
Essential Requirements

Qualifications
  • Have successfully completed the theory component of a Certificate IV in Aeroskills
  • Be seeking to complete the workplace practical experience requirements associated with their qualification

Citizenship
  • Be an Australian Citizen

Security Clearance
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance (Boeing Defence Australia will sponsor the security clearance process for successful candidates.)

Skills Assessment
  • Successfully complete the Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) Assessment as part of the recruitment process

  • Meet Defence access requirements
  • Successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality and professionalism
  • Be willing to work within a highly regulated aviation maintenance environment
