The Application Engineer - vECU Development will Develop, test, validate, integrate, and release Virtual Mechatronics Control Unit (vMCU) for Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture for future GM passenger vehicles (conventional ICE, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs)), at component and system level, using Synopsys Virtualizer (or similar) , Vector CANalyzer, CANoe , and Vehicle Spy tools, and Lauterbach Trace 32 hardware, and store vMCUs using BitBucket, Git and Jira tools, following Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Act as main contact for technical aspects such as model components and parameters, software images, and testing and validation of Virtual Mechatronics Control Unit (vMCUs) for Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture for future GM passenger vehicles. Plan, test, validate, and release virtual Electronic Control Unit (vECU) Level 4 model task functionalities and periodicities (corresponding to incremental phases 4.1 to 4.4 level of vECU), including Real Time Operating System (RTOS), Controller Area Network (CAN), Local Interconnect Network (LIN), Automotive Ethernet (User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)), Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) protocols.

Yours Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • Leads and generates technical solutions including specifying of requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing for current, new and major programs
  • Lead development of software system team design content and software anomaly corrections.
  • Performs complex design analysis
  • Specifies and balances system requirements
  • Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among software community
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Performs as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one platform or application component
  • Participates in interviews
  • Visibility: at the site/team level
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field, and one (1) year of experience as an Engineer, or related role.
  • Must also have experience with: validating and releasing passenger vehicle Electronic Control Units (ECUs) or virtual ECUs, at component and system level, using Vector CANalyzer and CANoe tools , Synopsys Virtualizer (or similar), Corellium and Lauterbach Trace 32 hardware.
  • Required: Create SystemC TLM2.0 models of microcontrollers, asics, drivers, modules, switches, timers, transceivers, etc.
  • Required: Integrate microcontroller and peripheral models into full Level 4 virtual ECUs
